So one day i was driving home from school i was listening to the radio and it was raining really bad out all of a sudden i hear a static noise coming from the radio like in one of those scary movies and then no sound at all. i have no sound coming from my speakers. has anyone had this problem before? i have a command II and it doesnt say cd changer anymore just radio cd and aux.
maybe the rain burned my amp? or is my cd changer bad? also when i unplug the cd changer from the fibre optic loop the navi doesnt flicker but when i keep it plugged in it flickers. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Usually means something is loose ,check to make sure the harness going to the amplifier is not lose. I had this issue, went in the trunk drivers side rear quarter panel behind carpet and put pressure on the harness. I have not had the noise since.Originally Posted by Leutrim

How did it work out? Did you follow ProjectC55's advice??
thanks for the reply. i tried that but nothing. im worried some water mabe leaked in somehow i checked all fuses are good and i checked the amp it looks clean cant smell any burning smell coming from it. i took out my command and the fuses behind it were all good. the thing thats weird is that when i connect my cd changer my navi goes crazy flickering and when i unplug it works perfect just no sound.
made a video if you guys can take a look at it

What year is your 55? The fiber links can be disconnected one at a time to determine the problem.
I would start with the cd changer, amp, phone, nav system.
Others, might have similar problems, Mercedes telematics search might get results.

its a 2005 model and has a newer harmon/becker amp and when i disconnect the cd changer the fiber optic loop closes im assuming because i dont get the red light at the amp.

Leutrim, you said that u have Command II with no CD changer , but your texts still mentioned about the CD changer, would that be CD player ?
My CD changer has broken too, i removed it with FO bypass connector in , now i still have CD Player and AUX to play with .

That has to be a bad fiber cable if not the CD player itself.
unplug the power and fiber from the changer
NAV should report no CD changer.
Most people are doing away with CD and using a MB puck on the AUX port.
There are some good postings on this subject by skylaw @ benzworld.org telematics.
