Funny how most nice stolen cars end up in Moscow.

But doesn't that car have a tow-away alarm? I mean, hell, my E55 has one. As soon as they'd lift it it would go off, then the car calls the police with its precise location.

I did repos for a few years. The guy that took that car knew what he was doing and im sure the alarm was "handled" without a peep. Best alarm is a locked garage!! Sucks that we all have to pay for the douche bags that just "take" what they cant afford!

^this is what I'm thinking. I know if I'd total my E55, I'd get more than I could sell it for.

You'd have to assume that if the guy knew what he was doing, then more than likely, he probably makes a pretty penny stripping them or whatever. I'd bet he could afford them. Maybe they like the thrill of it?

Have quite a few friends in Law Enforcement, they don't strip rare vehicles like Black Series etc There's more $ in shipping said vehicles over seas etc.

Alarm could go off all it wants while on tow truck & NO one would look twice as it could be assumed Repo or multi tickets etc.. After or before they open the car up before shipping the alarm/gps etc is easily disabled, yes JUST like the movies it sucks.. If they want ANY vehicle they can take it ANY time. Read this link

I am guessing tele-aid/embrace was not activated? If it was they can track the car with it, as long as it's still here at least. I would call the customer assistance center with the police report and try it.

Wow! Thats the best looking SL on the planet! CLK is good, monster power, having new suspension installed at Weistec right now so I can hopefully use the hp this year. My C BS is out at Weistec right now getting a stage 3 and somenother goddies installed but its going to be tame compared to the CLK. Have you heard about the No Fly Zone event March 3 out in southern CA? You should enter your car, lots of BMWs to beat up on. I have both my cars registered, you should try to make it and participate.

If it ends up in my neck of the woods (EU), its GPS will be useless.

What a Shame, I feel bad for the guy/gal.
The Mercedes security is one of the best in the world, unfortunatly when the battery is disconnected there is no security.
Hopefully it will turn up as a joy ride but I doubt it. It will take a coder to start the engine.
