Common Issues with a Supercharger on w209
Hi, I'm curious about getting a supercharger for my car, but want to know more about common issues/problems that will come with one?
Any major setbacks other than the price?
is reliability significantly reduced?
do you need to upgrade major components?
I'm looking at the Kleemann superchargers as I have read people recommending that brand. but open to others as well.

20k miles on my Klee setup with no major issues.
A few small issues that are just w209 related: mas, cps, valve cover gaskets, oh yeah an exhibition of speed 'warning'. So be careful.

I put 25K miles with the Eaton Type Kleemann SC and with the stock Non-AMG transmission. No problems with the engine or transmission.
I have had problems with the Kleemann Heat Exchanger and having the wrong tune, but other than that no problems related to the SC.
A lot depends on who does the install. Jeff and I had problems with the initial install, but then I drove to Kleemann HQ to get everything fixed and/or verified installed correct. I can only recommend Kleemann HQ in Colorado, they have the best price and NOBODY in the USA knows more about the Kleemann SC Kit than Cory!
Cory and the Kleemann team have been THE BEST Mercedes Tuner I have ever dealt with (by a MILE). Fantastic work and customer service!

100% agree w/2MCHCAR! Cory and Brandon @ Klee USA in Co are the best people to deal with, fair, good price, honest, and the workmanship is as good as factory. They treated me and my car with care/patience.
I would be very very careful with any 3rd party installer of a Klee blower. There are many cut-rate/high dollar so called speed shops out there with a good line, a fancy store-front, and hack-workmanship. So be careful.

I have HPS on my w208 go with weistec or kleemann it will save you alot of customization and time and money, not to mention you'd never find hps as there no longer!! I recommend water methanol to control and maintain IAT's...

Wow thanks everyone for all the info. It seems like a lot of people like the kleemann supercharger on here, Is the general consensus it will cost over $8,000 for parts and labor?
I'd love to look into the performance side of upgrading my Merc but not sure where to start.

I would just plan a summer road trip to Co Springs, Co and have the experts do the install. Or ship it and fly out to test drive and hit pikes peak like my brother and I did for my install.
