What's the weight difference between factory as the carbon shaft?
Is it direct bolt on?

Would be very interested if could be modified to fit a C43 (should be same size, just 3 bolt flange instead).

As i see; it is one piece shaft without center bearing,, the center bearing absorbs the vibration that can causes from the tranny or the diff.,

The vibration should concentrate in the center bearing area, without that center bearing the vibration will Scatters & transfers to everywhere,

i hope im not wrong....

ZAYED,,

Aside from thw weight issue, how does this shaft test out versus. The steel OEM shaft in terms of twisting forces, torsion, on hard starts repeated quick take offs, etc. Is this still in testing or this is meant for a limited racing application?

Thats the whole idea behind this material... there are other benefits to carbon then weight. A good example would be a wood hockey stick and a composite hockey stick. composite material depending how they are built can store and release energy. You can feel the difference immediately under accleration.

I hope that doesn't happen because you need to cut out the center sorry bearing bracket to make the cf shaft fit!

As long as it is balanced properly upon mfr vibrations should not be an issue.

Removing the center bearing cut parasitic drag.
Cf should reduce rotational mass as well.

The reason we went to CF driveshafts is you don't need the centre support, have lower mass and an overall stronger driveshaft.

CM60 - The CF absorbs the vibration.

The driveshaft from Weistec is holding up very well.

driveshafts are available for sale. FYI the carbon shaft requires you to remove the center support for the stock driveshaft.

"C43" & "W208 CLK430", sharing the same drive shaft,

i think "W208 CLK55" also can be used in "C43", it only needs to change the tranny & diff. flange from

(4) legs to (3) legs,,

anyone can confirm, what’s the different in dia. & length between

"W208 CLK430/CLK55" & "W209 CLK55".....??

ZAYED,,

2PRECISE, can they make one with the 3 leg flange vs the 4 leg flange so it can fit the C43?

if you look at the second post in this thread, member Tery, his shaft is a 3 bolt helicopter. In this case measurements are needed because 3 bolt shafts and 4 bolt shafts are different lengths.

What measurements are needed and what is the cost for the drive shaft?
