2002 CLK 55 AMG cabriolet Eurocharged
That Wheel is top of the line.
A weekend project on my to do list as well, if I can get a weekend off.
Love the woodwork delete, A lot of creativity goes a long way in saving bucks too.
Cheers, Gator

Thanks guys. I do feel up the alcantara every time haha.
I'm working on a sort of head up display now...something that would be able to project on the windshield from Android (torque) and the head unit as well. We'll see how it works out

Exhaust clip is right under the pictures. Maybe it doesn't work properly on mobile, if you were trying from your phone.
I'm in central Jersey. The work was done at http://www.maximumpsi.com/. Little more pricey compared to your average exhaust shop but they were total pros and the work is flawless. They mostly work on BMWs but they liked the AMG as well haha.

So...time for an update. I've been playing around with a couple ideas and here's what I went with:
Cadillac night vision camera (aka FLIR) install.
It's hard to get one of these cameras in good condition for a reasonable price but I finally managed to get my hands on one. The idea is to wire the camera to the head unit EXT switch and have it display on an additional display and/or the head unit as well. So, press ext on the head unit, camera powers on, display in front of driver flips up...and we have FLIR.
I have all the parts and started by mounting the camera. It fits where distronic would sit, with a few cuts here and there
So, step 1 - obtain the camera (which is gigantic):
Step 2 - understand where the camera will go, make some cuts and drill the mounting holes. Paint over all cuts so no rust:
Step 3 - modify front grille...like so:
Step 4 - make a wiring harness that will last (heat shrink wrap, braided shielding etc):
Step 5 - test your harness and make sure it works
Step 6 - mount camera:
More coming as the install continues

Step 8 - Get power from inside the car and run your wires. If you get power from the cigarette lighter then install a 15-20amp noise filter or you'll get crazy alternator noise. Also, install a composite video isolation transformer. Video signal will pick up noise from the engine bay. This will clean it up.
If you plan to run the signal to more than 1 screen install a video signal amplifier pictured here:
Step 9 - Install your monitor of choice.
Step 10 - Press EXT on your Kenwood and watch the screen flip up.
Watch on head unit as well if so inclined
Step 11 - Results

Hi,
Regarding the AMG bumper, I have the stock CLK bumper but I want to change the entire kit to AMG. This might sound stupid but do I need anything else other then the bumper to fit it on my car?
I mean is there some "AMG kit" or something that I will need to use or I'll just be able to fit the AMG bumber without any extra parts and ...
Also I wanted to ask, what is the radiator issue?
BTW your car looks hella good

It depends what car you have. Generally going from non AMG to AMG you have to change everything that's attached to the bumper. Think impact absorbers, brackets, chrome strips etc etc. It's a pricey project. I have a list of part numbers for the project if you need it.
Search the forums for the Valeo issue. Long story short the transmission cooler in the radiator fails, mixing coolant with the transmission fluid which in turns messes up the transmission.

Thanks megacrazy, yeah regarding the bumper I think I'll wait a bit more cause it's not a cheap mod. Regarding the transmission issue, later on I found a thread and read up on it. Luckily I'm not worried about this since I have manual...or should I ?

I don't think you have to be worried. I think it applies to the 722.6 transmissions. Not sure if the 240 manual has the radiator with the built in transmission cooler.

Awesome
You have great taste in your modifications Mike. thank you for sharing. Your car looks awesome.
A bit of an update on the diffuser...V2 haha. The VIS diffuser is nice on its own but it feels unfinished.
The new middle piece bridges the gap between the spare tire well and the bumper/CF diffuser nicely...and is functional. I may add more pieces in the future to cover the bottom of the exhaust.
The steering wheel is not done yet...but it's almost there
Regular shot
Closer
And one to make it more visible

Some updates. Installed the Renntech airbox...next up are gloss black valve covers to match the rest of the engine bay. They're leaking so I might as well get them done.
