Check engine light 2005 CLK55
Hi guys,
I got check engine light last night while driving slow. I don't have the scan reader but I did some search so the possibility are: MAF sensor, gas cap and Oxygen sensor. Do you guys think better just replace it or clean it ? I will fill up the gas with a bottle of Techron to clean the system. I really hope is not the exhaust or need to replace MAF sensor. However, I felt the car is not as fast as the 04 CLK55 I had before. Thanks for any advise.

To remove MAF sensor. There is one electrical connection. Push the grey holding clip back with a flat head screw driver, once it snaps back it's easy to remove. (This the the same type of electrical connection you will find all over the vehicle) There are three clips holding the MAF sensor in place. Image 1 shows the two plastic clips (in black), and Image 2 shows the third clip (after MAF is removed). The metal clips in the back must be pushed out of the way first (Image2). Simply use your finger, or flat head to push the clip towards the rear of the engine compartment. The clip will stay out of the way, but does not come completely out. In red (Image 1) shows the direction you must push the two black plastic clips - first outward, the backward (towards the back of the engine compartment)

Thanks for your response. I feel the car is not as fast as my 04 CLK55 that's why I think it's the Maf sensor. It has 98K miles now. I will have someone remove the Maf sensor and clean it as regular maintenance item. And if the engine light comes back then will figure next time.

Go to an auto parts store and get the code read for free. I can help you the best I can with diagnosis from there. Without codes you are only creating more variables by changing anything.
