Just a thought, rather than going through all that bother why not have a good shop just re-upholster them?

I think the interior looks so much better on the w208 even though some aspects are dated compared to the w209. The black/white, black/blue, and black/red w208 interiors really make the cars look amazing. What's your reason for wanting w209 seats as I see no advantage to them?

Do you have multi-contour seats? The ones with the air bladders that are adjustable in many different ways. Though designed to help you get a snug fit while drving aggresively at high speed they can clearly be adjusted for max comfort. Just a thought.

2002 CLK 55 AMG cabriolet Eurocharged
The W208 AMG were equipped with the multi - contour seats embossed with Designo across the upper back section. Getting kind of rare in used markets, but an alternative for larger gents might come from a sport E-class.
The E-class W210 shared many of the characteristics of the W208. Just a Hunch that it provides extra support but not sure about the room available in the car. The W209 has actually less room but a similar seat as the W208.

I recently re did my complete interior on my CLK55 W208. my interior guy does all the dealer cars so he ordered the OEM 2013 C63 material and re did my complete interior. the complete top and bottom dash, door panels and rear panels, rear seats and center consul all with platinum double stitching. also I upgraded my seats to light weight race seats that are reclinble because I do daily drive the car. the recline is manual but the forward and backwards is electrical because I used my oem seat brackets and had a custom mount built to have these seats attached to them by a buddy of mine that builds race cars for a very popular race team so the quality was guaranteed. I also had my seat belts redone in red and upgraded my steering wheel to the 2013 C63 steering wheel with all working steering wheel buttons that I wired to work with the clk canbus system and hardwired paddle shifter which I used the brabus paddles for. also air bag works fine as well. also a one piece autocad designed and cut out of plastic center consul with space for an iDrive for my carpc setup, SL63 shift knob, CLK63 black series shiftgate and shift frame. push start button and the sprint booster button was relocated to the center consul and the sprint booster light was relocated to the empty slot in the gauge cluster where I can see if its on sport or race mode o off via dual color LED. I will post more pics of everything tomorrow. but here is the seat pic as a teaser.

I know its been a while. my daughter was borne a few months ago and I have been busy having fun being a dad so i'm starting to get back on finishing everything up. here are a few more. I also included a pc of my new brakes and wheels set up with stud conversion as well as my bi-xenon head custom headlights with custom DRL in high beam housing and the true dual exhaust where I customized the trunk to fit one canister on each side with titanium tips. the diffuser is not complete yet as i'm doing a under body diffuser to go with it and then aligning the tips again. also on the top dash im retrofitting a 8" touch screen monitor for my carpc setup which replaced my entertainment setup and also act as engine management so I can change stuff on the fly. the silver AMG knob on the center consul is a iDrive I retrofitted to the carpc. the other two bottons one is for push start and the other is for the 2nd gen sprint bosster, I relocated and wired the sprint booster to that switch and put S/S+ for the two mods of the sprint booster and relocated the status light of the sprint booster into the gauge cluster to give it a more oem look. I also made custom gauge faces and glow red needles which I will post later, they are the C63 style gauge faces. Once I finish everything MarcusF is going to do a proper phone and artice as im not talented enough for all that. haha enjoy.

99CLK320,
You never cease to amaze me. How many MBs could you have purchased with the time and money you put into you 208? You are truly a possessed builder. Nice work Ash.

Haha thanks DL. Mostly is my work so the costs arent too high just weekend projects and blessed with many talented friends. This car has a lot of centimental value due to my late grand mother and will never leave me or be up for sale so im going ***** out. But its almost done and next project is either going to be a 458, 599 or a gallardo super performante.

Ash, you've got too much car for one article. The interior alone is an entire article. Its going to take a series. I'm thinking at least three articles. We should get together and get started. The next edition is in May, followed by August. We should shoot for something in the August issue.
