Service A and EuroCharged ECU Tune

Just had a Service A done at a local reputable Indie shop. I've had EuroCharged tune both ECU & TCU. Before I took her in the car felt stronger, pulled like a mule, and was quick at any RPM/speed range. Maybe it's me but after the basic Service A it feels like I'm driving my grandmother's Benzo. So the question is - in a standard service A is there any way an ECU tune would be reset to factory default?

Anytime the battery is disconnected the ECU resets back to factory. This happened to me when I took my car into the dealership so I had to re-flash it again after.

Side Note: How long does it take you to re-flash your ECU? It takes me at least 45 minutes every time. It will load a little, and then an error message will appear and I have to start over. Each time it loads a little more until its finally complete but I dont think this is normal.

I sent my TCU to Jerry in Houston. Had the ECU flashed and dyno'd at the local EC-DC shop. Looks like I'll be giving Jerry a call to see if I can get her re-tuned! Thanks.

couple of pointers

1. A independent shop will not have the capability to flash the ECU to stock or update the ECU with newer firmware.
2. The ECU will not revert back to stock if the battery is disconnected. Completely false statement. Only thing that will happen when battery is disconnected for a long periods of time is that all learning adaptations will be reset.

Thanks Shardul - she still feels sluggish. Any truth to the ECU "adapting" to your driving style -in that I get into it at least once a day. Over time will she adapt to my wanting to blow riced out Subarus off the road?

The TCU and ECU do to some extent adapt to your driving style.

Why not simply ask if they flashed the ECU? I seriously doubt they would do that at an indie shop for basic service. If they disconnected the battery that might explain the car going through a re-learn...but it shouldn't take long.

Also, make sure they didn't screw something mechanical up if the car feels really low on power.

Yeah - thanks. I will call. They're a highly respected shop so I'd be surprised if they screwed something up. She just doesn't feel like the same car. That being said - kill story tonight on the way home. Cayenne S tries to take me on the right going up hill so I goose it to the stop light. Side by side with 3/4 mile open road and no traffic. We hit it and I hooked up nice. Had him by half a length coming out of the hole. Was easily 3 lengths ahead at the quarter. I made the next light he got stuck in traffic. On up the road we waved as he got on to 66 west. Then out of the blue I've got some old dude (I'm not young) trying to race me, as well as some kid in a Scion - sheesh. I'll got WOT if there are no innocents in the way, but really, 60 and driving like an a** with moms taking kids home from school. Must be a small sack.

Still, she doesn't have the same pop when I hit the throttle, it's more a roll...

If its a benz indie shop they should have the capability(star) to revert back to stock. If any updates were preformed thru the star it will revert back to stock. Have seen plenty ecu's flashed back to stock unknowingly thru dealer/indie shops while preforming ecu/module updates. But otherwise shardul is correct.

Malfunction display service A indicator light was on the control system display, so I figure they would have to star it to reset the service light indicator and interval. Like megacrazy suggests, I'll call the shop tomorrow. If they did reset it I believe Jerry will give retunes for as long as you own the vehicle...?

Don't need a scanner to reset a service light

Speedriven - thanks. Then I can't see any reason they'd have used an SDS for a basic service A. Guess I'll call them tomorrow and ask. Thanks all for the input.
