Changing bixenon headlight bulb, help please!
Hey guys,
I'm trying to change out my drivers side headlight bulb. Doing as the book says but when i try to pull the actual bulb out, only the socket comes out and the bulb stays stuck in the housing. Any suggestions on how to get it out?
Thanks in advance...

no, I have fat hands so i can barely reach in there, lol. I can barely even see anything. The owners manual says to turn the socket counter clockwise and the bulb/socket should come out. This is exactly how it is on my c230 and normally it works.
Do you know where the clip is? or maybe have any pics? thanks!

I've replaced my HID bulbs and all I had to do is twist the bulb to remove and install. When you attempted to remove the bulb, did you push in first then twist?

I looked over my notes, what I instructed above is for the fog light. I believe your 2005 CLK55 uses a D2S bulb, so it has 2 clips that retain it. Look at the video link below, its for a G37 but it's similar to what our car uses. It can be done without removing the headlamp, but it's a tight fit and it's tough putting those clips back on the new bulb (it helps to remember the orientation of the bulb/clips when you remove it).
