Great job bro..,

Those (90ShA) poly "strongflex" are really reliable,

installed them on "C55 & SLK55" at Rears, 3 years ago,

but forced clicking sound with (90ShA) at fronts on both cars,,

replaced them with (80ShA)..

i should have the car back middle of next week, should have review of the headers not too long after. in the meantime, i'm looking to get the car wrapped with something little more aggressive but fits the car's "classic" lines. any suggestions?

Not sure of the exact color, but check out the review Doug Demuro did of the Unimog a few months back if you haven't seen it. That color would look good IMO.

*Just scrubbed the video for the name, its call "Designo Platinum"

Also, looking forward to your review of the Headers! Im very close to pulling the trigger on a set here in the next week or so. How long did it take you after you placed the order to receive them? Im hoping I can have them here with-in 6 weeks.

it took 3 months, but might be faster if they are not as busy or as impacted by covid. i will pick up car middle of next week, hopefully can provide more dets on fitment, sound, etc...

thx for suggestion, i looked into designo platinum but think i want something on the darker side. BRG is a good option, but not sure if w208 can pull it off.

Are you doing the Header install yourself or having a shop do it?

Curious how difficult the install will be. Ive heard some say its nightmare and others say its not terrible.

having shop do it, no time to do anything myself. it might need engine out to clear driver side steering box. i actually almost decided on not installing them and just keeping my kleemans but they looked too good not to put them on for my car its completely NA, i might not see much benefit.

You swap the ring gear from a Mercedes with a 3.06. The quaife doesn’t come with a ring gear

btw heard back from my shop on the header install, its not an easy (or cheap) install at all. it was a little more complicated as i have a custom full exhaust with x-pipe way up front. either way, looks like nice exhaust but install in the w208 is not straightforward. little regrets on my side as i was very happy with my kleeman exhaust but i might go sc route at some point and this will help.

haters crazy
Those headers look oddly familiar 🤔 Here are the ones I had custom made many years ago. A design flaw in the ones you posted is that the flange is all one piece. Going to be a pain to install those! The power steering box will be in the way

Thats good info. I spoke to a shop in Plymouth Meeting down by me yesterday, he said he would have no problem doing the header install but im not 100% certain he knows how in-depth it may turn out to be. We discussed the fact that I would be supplying the headers and having him build a custom exhaust from that point back, so it may make it a littler easier for him since there won't be anything to particularly line up. It's just a matter of getting these headers in.

Im also wondering if this guy at MCS is aware of the steering box issue, and if there is anyway i can try to see if he can build my set with the steering box issue in mind. Problem is I don't speak Russian If he can build these out with that in mind it may make everyones life a lot easier. We'll see.

they know about it, thats why its designed differently than the passenger side. to be honest its not their fault completely, i worked with other shops in the past to make custom one and design around steering box is not simple. way back in the day MBH (sorry if i got the company wrong) tried to make LT headers for us, but after R&D they decided against offering it. maybe BlackBenz suggestion of making it completely 2 piece like the kleeman one will help with the install instead of single flange... come to think of it i'm not sure why they didn't just do it that way

what's to become of your old kleemann headers? Been curious about some upgrades on my w202 C43 with an e55 swap

on the MSC headers - quality is very good but fitment is very tight and install was pita (mercedes fault not MSC lol) sound wise, they dont sound much different than the kleemans. i honestly can't say if they sound better or not. i'm sure i picked up power but i wont know how much until i can get it on dyno or back on track. i expect 20hp

Damn dude they look great! May be a PITA but they sure look worth it. I'll be pulling the trigger on a set in a couple more weeks.

I spoke with a shop here in Plymouth Meeting, PA who said they would build a custom exhaust from the Headers back. My Ideal Set-up would be Headers down to 2 Electric cut-outs, and straight back to the stock AMG Muffler. Im still debating putting cut-outs in but well see when the time comes.

What Diameter exhaust are you running from the headers back?

2.5 inch dual exhaust, perfect for my NA setup. If your going supercharged, I recommend 2.75-3 inches dual. my car always sounded good with prev setup, I hope I picked up decent power from these to justify all the work.
