2000 CLK 55 AMG
W208 CLK 55
Hello all
This is my first post here and to be honest I'm new to Mercedes cars. I recently bought a 2000 CLK55 AMG and I have a bunch of questions. Car is fully standard at the moment but all my other cars I have had were modified so I kinda dont want to make exeptions with the Merc.
Fist of all, I want want to find out which shocks + springs to get. I dont car about comfort and I'm looking for a stiff ride since I will track the car at local events (Yas island marina circut and Dubai Autodrom). I also would love to get my hands on some decent bushings. So if anyone here have any sugestions please let me know. Thanks.

As much as I do that i always find some people say positive things about a certain part and next thing someone says opposite. Some say H&R springs are good then someone says they arent. I'd like some who has those actual parts to give me a feed back. Lets say Bilstain B8 shocks with H&R springs. An actual person with an CLK 55 and those parts and/or similar. As I said I'm new to Mercs and I wouldnt want to buy wrong parts. Thanks.

im going coilover route for my w209, but i had bilstein sport shocks and vogtland lowering springs on my clk320 99 back in the day and i loved the ride. it wasnt that stiff at all, so if you are looking for stiff dont go that route

Would you mind telling us which Bilsteins you had (B4, B6 or B8)??

Whatever springs and shocks (Bilstein / koni/ Sachs) you go with, you can probably sell your original equipment springs to someone in the U.S. The European spec springs were never offered here. Someone can order the rears if they know the part numbers, but the fronts are not available. At this stage, the AMG European front springs may not be available from ROW dealerships.
