H&R Lowering Springs

Does it make a big difference if I buy the non-AMG lowering springs and install on my 55?

I made a comparison on the website and cannot find much difference but height.

Are there different spring rates?

Posted pics for reference..

Both have the same part number and the same price on the extracts you posted. It seems to be the same kit no ?

FYI, for the springs, the part # 29392-3 is for a coupe and part # 29259-2 is for a convertible.

That's the answer I'm looking for. I have a coupe. I am thinking of getting the 29259-2 only just a lowering preference. A little clearance does not hurt. It should fit right? No difference in mounting?

If you don't want to lower as much as the H&R springs, get the Eibach (2563.140). That's what I have and it lowers 1.2" front and rear.

You should be OK with the convertible springs but if you decide on those vs. Eibach, I'd go for the Eibach since it's designed for the coupe vs. a design for the convertible. My $0.02

Could you post pics of your setup? Thanks. I'd like to see the stance.

Looks good! your's still has a significant amount of gap. The proper H&R -2 springs tuck the rear tires and that's just not my taste. I really want it to be fender to tire level.

did yours settle some more after a few miles?

It's weird because the H&R -2 claims 1.3 lowering for the rear and eibach is 1.2. After looking at pictures, the H&R look a lot lower.

I had a spring pad that raised the rear a few MM to make sure I don't rub but yes it settled a little. If you keep your stock spring pad and use Eibach it'll be good. But H&R lowers more but I think it tucks which I don't like.

We have the same taste. I'll probably get a #2 or 3 spring pad then. I'm googling for pictures to see differences.

I prefer H&R just because of past experience. Ride quality is somewhat the same to stock. How are the Eibachs?

Sweet exhaust thread by the way!

My car came stock with a #3 pad BTW.

When I first got the springs, it felt totally different. A small flick of the steering wheel and it slings in the direction you want. I like it! But I got used to it and it feels very normal now. Ride quality is OK as well!

Sweet! Not sure what pad the CLK55 comes with.

I'm placing my order today for the -3.

Thanks for the feedback!
