Wrecked my CLK W209

Thank you all'
I was reminded about the attention to safety mercedes engineers incorporate on their works of art.. I don't have a bruise and can't be more thankful.
The car felt to perfect. I had replace all front suspension components from sway-bar bolts to struts. I can point-out what each part replaced changes how the whole car feels. Its amazing to think a few mm can cause such drastic change on how the car handles/feels..
Anyways I will be selling parts from it. If you guys need anything be sure to let me know and I will be more than glad to check if the part survived.

Car felt like new. Handling was amazing and the ride was superb. I had my local indie assemble the strut unit and then I installed the strut on my car.

speeding over a bump the tires were on the air so brakes did not help me stop, but a tree which i am very grateful for stopped the impact smacking the rear passenger side the whole assembly from differential and hitting 2 small trees that also reduced the force i was carrying with the car. The whole event was on a curve and if the tree wasent there changing the direcion of impact i would've hit a wall an probably be dead

Glad to read this post as it reminds me of some friends that never lived to talk about their reaction to near death incidents. You Lived this time

Holy smokes. Thank the Lord you are okay man. Sorry bout the car. I would be sad to salvage parts from it but I suppose helping others will make it easier for you.
There was an incident that occurred here last month in my country in a neighbouring State. New Golf 7R. Owner took his children and the neighbour's son for a drive. Ended up killing himself, his one child and the neighbour's child and his remainder kid in hospital. Car split down the centre between the pillars separating the front from the rear and sending each half in a different direction.

After giving this long thoughts and having a feel for the car I've decided to make it a restoration project. I cleaned the car and removed the damaged passenger side fender and noticed the bracket that hold the fender is not harmed by the incident.
The only heavy damaged body part was the rear right quarter panel, fender and door. In terms of mechanical parts I would need to fix the front right and rear suspension along with the axle shaft.
The engine has a leak probably something is broken. I will need your help with the engine removal so if any of you have intel on how to do this procedure be sure to let me know or reply on a thread that I will start soon. (My indie told me engine removal for this car is a piece of cake.....) Problem is I noticed that the subframe is broken where the upper control arm bolts. I saw few subframes on eBay at good prices if annoys you have info in removing the front subframe im all ears
Things I have in mind for this car:
Black series bodykit, Vossen CVT wheels, Carbon Fiber Steering wheel
Alcantra headliner and pilars and perhaps 1 to another thing along the way.... Any ways if you wish to join me on the journey to restore this mercedes keep up to my soon to come restoration thread
Cheers and thanks everyone for your replies.

Good luck, you have a lot of work ahead of you. Engine removal isn't too difficult in most cars. The basic theory is to remove anything going to and from the body (oil lines, coolant lines, AC lines, electrical harness, intake, etc etc) until you are left with engine mounts only and the transmission holding it in. Then take it out the top I would imagine? Bottom is always easier but of course you need a lift. Get a copy of WIS if you don't already.
Did the broken axle do some damage? They usually tear everything up. Some of those things sound like serious damage. Ignoring the work involved, I would prefer to have a new car knowing the chassis etc is perfect.

You might want to hoist the car up and get some measurements across the frames torque boxes.
these are areas that a frame machine would stretch the uni-body back into condition.
1/4" off in some of these measurements can produce a car that dog tracks or a car that the alignment will never be rite.
Not trying to discourage you, I will fix anything myself. Just keep passion and pocket in perspective.
Best, Gator

Are you going to be doing the work. If not it may be worth getting a new car and making this a donor car. My 209 needed a front fender, passenger door, front bumper, control arm, strut, wheel, and steering rack. The estimate was over 11k for repairs. I only paid 13500 for the car in the first place.
