2004 clk55 to buy or not to buy?
Hey everyone so I have a chance to buy a 04 clk55 cabriolet for $6200. The car has 147k miles on it. 2 owner car original owner was 2nd owners uncle. 7k in maint done I'm the past 4 years. Seller sent me 11 pages of maint records just in his ownership not even uncles. Mounts all done, suspension, breaks, radiator, and gaskets done with some other stuff as well. Clean title, no accidents? Here's some pics
All help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks

No, not really. These cars have a very reliable engine/transmission combo. As long as the maintenance is up to date. The radiator issue (coolant and transmission fluid can mix in the old valeo rads) shouldn't affect most 04's I don't think, so assuming they changed it because of a mild leak or age there shouldn't be a problem.
Of course there are lots of non model specific problems with high mileage. If they did replace the shocks, bushes, swaybar mounts, and control arms you are probably good to go. I don't know anything about the roof but if it opens and closed and doesn't leak it is likely fine. Make sure the transmission flush has been done as MBUSA adopted a fill for life policy which is garbage as you probably know from owning the E55.
Just out of interest, is this an extra car or replacing a car?

Kelly Blue Book is quoting around 7300 in "very good" condition. Sounds like you have a reasonable price. It sounds like the car has been well cared for, if the transmission has been serviced on a regular basis. I'd get a pre-purchase inspection at a dealer and see what they turn up.
