2004 CLK55 Dual Exhaust Conversion

2004 CLK55 Dual Exhaust Conversion

Removed Secondary Cats and inputted a Magna-flow muffler.
Straight pipes all the way back with 2"25 piping after the muffler.
Custom tips made due to time constraint of upcoming rally. Will get OEM ones eventually.

Sounds good for now but has an annoying drone at 2k. I will fix that later

Sounds good.

Straight pipes all the way back with 2"25 piping after the muffler.
Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't straight pipe mean that there is no Cats, mufflers, or resonator in the system?

LoL. You and him share a similarity. You guys go through CLK's like underwear.
My bro almost bought the black one. But he couldn't sell his other car in time.
I guess it worked out well cause my bro ended up getting a sweet mint condition one.

Funny... my plans were to hit you up sometime cause I wanted to hear your car in person. Then your *** drives directly through the intersection while i was texting. I heard some exhaust, I looked up, and it was you. haha.

No wonder people say don't text and drive. "...Cause you'll miss out on seeing modded cars on the road."

I talked to my local muffler shop about doing this similar set-up on our 03 clk55 and he said he doesn't recommend putting the second pipe down the passenger side since it would be so close to the spare tire well and the fuel thing on the opposite side. Has there been any negative effects on the plastic parts surrounding the new pipe on the passenger side?

Lazy

He's being lazy.
I have not noticed any issues. You can wrap the parts that are close to any plastic with exhaust wrap and you'll be good.

Great idea, I might ask around at some other muffler shops too, see if I can find a more flexible staff!

Updated Quad Exhaust

Finally got around to installing the AMG tips and decided to modify my set up due to the drone, which was killing me. Thanks kb24forlife24 for the advice!

I removed the muffler I had in place of my secondaries and swapped it with an x pipe.

The car sounds completely different. Lets see and hope the drone gets better.

Little clip from inside the cabin and some pics. (Excuse the Dirty *****)

Question: Hey I guys I'm new to the game. I have an 04 CLK 320 cabrio and I'm thinking of doing the same type of set up. Wouldn't there be a code if you removed your secondary cats?
