None of the eBay options are OEM. All the used OEM ones are damaged in some way. I'd like to get a brand new OEM piece. Or a excellent condition used one.

I replaced my 208 front bumper in the last year. My inner valiance finally bit the dust and came of on the highway, trashing the front bumper. My mechanic searched high and low and could not find a new one anywhere. He had to buy a repaired one and we had to buy the valiance separate (on Ebay).
It's totally solid though and was considerably cheaper.

I just got my bumper replaced 2 weeekends ago. I purchased my brand new OEM bumper from Mercedespartscenter.com for $633. Lowest price I've found and I looked everywhere.

maybe thats just a generic diagram, what is part #5 on the diagram?? notice in the parts list there is no part for #5, so does that mean it is the right one and there is no "lower half" as shown in the diagram?
that is a good price and i need one as well so if i know its really the right one i might snag one up too!

Dziner82 below are some pics of the bumper nstalled I got from Mercedespartscenter.com
it is the second No. 1 option w/washers part number 2088850525
Yes the diagram is generic, I guess the bottom valence would be for a 320. I am 100% pleased with the bumper purchase. It came well boxed, the bumper was not twisted or dinged in anyway. Hope this helps
Not the best pics. But it was when I was picking up the car, and didn't have time to be artistic.

very helpful response and thanks so much for the pics.
i just spent a good amount of money for my CLK55 on other parts but i feel i need to jump on these before they run out of stock or raise the price due to a spike in orders... im sure selling 3 in one month would set a record for this part

do any of you guys know the part number for the fasteners or clips or whatever is used to attache the lower grille to the front bumper?
i have mine currently attached with a zip tie setup since i didnt know fasteners were needed.
benbilli, it looks like your bumper is missing the lower grille piece in your photos, i kno wmany CLK55s are missing this lower grille piece. im looking for the fasteners that are needed to attach that piece.

@Dziner82 It seems you are right. I've only seen them on 430. Most 55s I see don't have them. The lower grill piece is only $100 so I may buy one. I've gotten accustom to it without tho. My car has a lot of projects upcoming.

you're right though, many of the cars dont have them, but i think thats just because many of the owners of these cars really neglect them. as a few of us have found with owners never replacing the air filters!
mine is at the body shop now getting the front bumper and that lower grille painted, also some repair. we rigged up some screws/bolts behind the stints in the lower grille opening to keep that area form separating, as thats where it was cracked. then repairing the cracks and repainting. the body shop feels pretty good about it and thinks its 95% as good as getting a new bumper for 1/2 the cost.
then i need to have the whole car buffed and waxed... THEN i will finally take some pics and post it up on here.

The lower bar just snaps onto the tabs in the opening....that's why so many fall off. Zip tie it on or you are doomed to a $100 + paint many times over.
Just for future reference (after 3 curb catch breaks), repaired bumpers are just fine and you will never know the difference. If you can find a repaired one, jump on it.

yea mine is ziptied on. haha, of all the overly complicated assembly systems MB did in those days it seems odd that they had such a faulty and simple system for the lower grille insert!

Just finished front bumper install for my 2nd /clk55. I picked it up on Amazon free shipping 260.00 required some detailed fiberglass repair with epoxy support but it looks like a champ now.
New ED AMG clone. oh well.
The fresh air intake has a trim piece that we tie strap onto the bumper cover. This may be what you are referencing. They list on Ebay 140.00 if you can find one.
The ED bumper had it built into the bumper cover.
My Cab was missing for ever, Replaced with metal mesh grill to protect heat exchanger.
Post 11 it is missing the trim piece from drive lamp to drive lamp.
Best, Gator

On my 2001 clk55 amg the front bumper, replaced by the previous owner due to collision, has the trim bar between the lights, but the three middle vertical connectors are broken. Would jb weld plastic epoxy and/or a plastic welder be workable repair solutions? Would zip ties prevent further sagging and/or fracturing the two outboard vertical pieces?

make some brackets out of 3/4 flat stock to support the outer edge of the cover. The oem splash shields intact should help a lot.

Thanks for the reply. How would I attach a reinforcing metal strap, or straps, to the back of the bumper where it's hidden? I may be able to get some scraps from a head unit installation. Are there mounting places for screws or bolts above and below the broken vertical parts? I wonder if the body shop left off some kind of bracket that would have precluded the deterioration. There are no scratches on the underside indicative of tearing on road obstacles..
