I Love This Car!
I just came back from a spirited drive in my 2001 CLK55 and I just had to say what a great car it is. I just love having the instant ability to generate a smile and child-like laughter with a simple flex of my right foot.
I also have more rattles than I'm used to from MB and recently the guel gauge started acting up, so I'm not immune to the problems described here. Perfect, it's not but overall, I think it is a well-built, well-designed car. This is a great and very informative forum and I acknowledge most people post when they are having problems, but with all the negavite posts lately, I think this car is getting disproportionately misrepresented.

glad to hear you are enjoying your car. what most people don't realise is that...its not often that people post about how reliable there has been or how much they enjoy. They mostely only post when something is wrong with their car. if you go on any other forum you will realise that there are 3 kinds of post.
1) when something is wrong with their car
2) What mod they should get
3) the off topic forum where everything goes. So i for one can say that my moms 2003clk has never been in the shop, does not have the dreaded pulling to the right problem and has been nothing but trouble free. The same can be said about my C230kompcoupe.

I agree wholeheartedly! I get tired of hearing all the moaning and complaining. I love my car the way it came from the factory and I'm not going to moify the heck out of it to try and wring another 20 horsepower out of an already superb engine or spend a lot of money to lower it by an inch.

Me too, an extremely happy AMGs owner. Satisfied owners need to speak up!!! My 02'E55 is almost flawless and my 01'CLK55 is just as good except for minor squeaks. My previous 98'E430 and 98'CLK320 were just as good also. I do have to admit having a competent dealership for service makes a world of difference.

clk55, 06 Cayman S, Vishnu EVO 8 stage 1 +, and X5
I got it Nov. 2001. I drive it everyday to work. 80 miles back and forth five times a week. Plus long trips to LA. I even drove it to Grand Canyon last 4th of July. The temp on the Mohave dessert was over 100 and I was doing over 100 also. Hehehe. Not a drop of oil, that's according to the on-board computer. Yep so far so good. I plan on keeping it and want to hit 200,000 miles. Let us see what will happen.
