Anybody Know These Vehicles?
As you guys know, about two months ago I totaled Gladys. Viewed it as an opportunity to move up to the 63 BS. I'm looking for a high(er) mileage vehicle, not some garage queen - because I'll be doing radical surgery like I did to Gladys.
Anyway - came across these two cars, does anybody have knowledge of them:

This car is local to me so I can go see it firsthand, and it's in the USAA buyer's club which means I can get an additional discount - but 8 owners in 8 years - causes me to wonder?

This car is located in Marietta, GA, and I'm willing to make the trip to check it out, but $49K - and it comes from Florida - flood vehicle?
Even though both cars say they have a clean CARFAX - that means absolutely nothing. Beyond visual inspection I'd want to see service records, and I would definitely take her to an Indie shop for a PSI.
Just wondering if anyone has any background knowledge on these?

Done - bought 242377 tonight. Don't know when I'll pick her up but it'll be in the next day or two! Looks like I'll be changing forums - but still in the 209 family!

Florida is not a flood state but if you party too hard next to the ocean or the river, $it will happen.

Gator - Flood vehicles in Fla were from the hurricanes, and alot of older vehicles of that era were around when the last big one came through. Plus, Fla is a known market to cycle rebuilds and get new VINs titles and then back out on the market - so I'm REALLY cautious when I see a Fla car that looks sketchy!

Most of the flooding from hurricanes is in coastal communities near point of impact and local surrounding surf surge.
Most Florida cars are undesirable from beachside ownership. The salt air from the ocean will corrode the car worse than snowbound northern cars. Older Florida cars left outdoors in the sunshine might have degraded paint and interior. The heat is brutal in the summer.
Florida rebuilt cars are abundant but normally handled by wholesalers. Dealers will not display them. Lemon Laws are here. The Auctions are required to disclose the nature and most Auctions allow pre bid inspection.
I think The West might have the best. Arizona, Texas, New Mexico. Florida is a nice place to find a barn treasure. Much of the American Muscle from the 60's, 70,s is still on tap in the north because many of the owners winter garage them. just a thought

Thanks guys - I just recall seeing reference to several vehicles coming out of Fla that were flood vehicles with new titles. That and it's being sold on consignment, and not from an MB dealer all lead me to exercise due diligence.
Always better to err on the side of caution when dealing with these cars. you know what they say about drunks and fools!
