Old-School CLK55 AMG Races New Shelby GT350 Mustang
How does the quickest AMG sold in the United States in 2001, the CLK55, stack up against this year's hottest Mustang?

Thats my car, just a little. Background my car was full of foldup chairs, tents and a cooler. This was the end of the day and wanted one last run.

Staging was the same, we backed up all the way to the gravel. Also the event was about top speed not drag race. I think the gt350 ran a ~145. I did a 130. Could have done a little better but let off and half throttled the last 150 feet. Car was load with things and we were about to head home. Anyways it was lots of fun. Shift-Sector Airport Attack.

Must have been fun.
It seems to me if you have 1 mile to get to a top speed..... you would want to accel as fast as possible to reach the highest terminal vel in that distance and still have room to stop safely.... but perhaps I'm overthinking things

I could have pushed more in the last 200-300 feet, but this was the last pass of the day and I am one of those guys that believe in taking it easy on the last run of any day.
I was truly impressed with the CLK as I was sure he was going to kill me right out of the gate. He is pushing about 150 HP more then me.
Car has been in the shop for over a month getting resprayed and new headers installed. Old ones were severely cracked.
