CLK spoiler
Has anyone either removed the trunk spoiler or ordered the car without? Not fond of it. Note* you can check the delete spoiler box on the M3 order form-didn't see that on the build your own section of MBUSA.

I thought about taking it off but the salesman claims there are two bolts through the trunk lid in addition to double sided tape. Hoping to be able to order the car without the wing.

IMO the spoiler is nice - makes the car look less Accord/Acura CL/Volvo-ish. If there are holes underneath the spoiler you can always have them filled. Course then you would already have a reapainted panel on a banrd new car....

I don't care for the spoiler either...
It definitely does not match the "flow" of the car body, imho. I think it shouldn't be too hard to find a CLK500 owner who would be willing to swap trunk lids, I would think (Obviously they'd have to be the same color and you would want to swap badges)...
One thing to consider however, is that supposedly the CLK55 rear spoiler does provide some actual lift reduction, which is why I am keeping mine...
Best regards,
Matt

But I'm going to keep my rear spoiler only for that fact that it reduces rear lift. Aside from that, I'm in Pa, so we'd have to ship our trunks out, which is obviously too much of a bother/too risky...
If you were refering to me after all, I do appreciate the offer!
Best regards,
Matt
