How Long Of A Wait?
Hey guys. Hope you're enjoying your beautiful automobiles, the vicious yet gorgeous CLK55. Here's my situation, I was supposed to be graduating a year early but it seems that I am getting screwed by the Honors director in having to take a couple more classes. Ergo, I will only be graduating a semester early. As a graduation gift, I am getting a new car.
My choices originally were either a G35 Coupe fully loaded or a 2004 Acura TL fully loaded. But we recently visited the dealership and my father fell in love with the CLK55 and asked the salesman how long would it take to get one in with Navigation and Lighting Pkg. He told me that it would take 6-8 months!!
Does that sound reasonable? How long have you fellow CLk55 owners waited to get yours?

2004 CLK55 Cabriolet, 2007 GL450
Ordered our CLK55 Cabriolet June 14th 2003. Today, May 1, 2004 it is supposed to arrive at the port in L.A. Supposed to be at the dealership May 15. So it took 11 months in our case and the dealer said he pulled some strings to get it here that fast. Soon after we get it the 2005's will probably be coming out. I don't understand why it should possibly take so long. I would like to hear how long others have had to wait to get theirs.
I keep telling myself it'll be worth the wait.

Congrats on your soon to arrive E55! I don't blame you for wanting to trade up - it's gonna be awesome!! You should feel fortunate that they got you one that's already built and on it's way. I talked to a dealer in Dallas and one in Houston and they both told me a CLK55 Cab on average is taking 1 year from the time it's ordered. I still don't understand it. I share your excitement, let me know when you get it and post some pictures.

04 CLK55
not in the UK
Here in the UK the wait is about 4 months. Over here it is also easy to pick up a car in 2 weeks if you arent too fussy about the spec. I was offered a clk55 I could have in two weeks if I didn't want comand (sat nav). I decided to wait and get my exact preferences because I wanted some more time to enjoy my previous car (an 03 M3) because it was just starting to loosen up.
There are a small number of cars available from cancellations and from ex demonstrators.
I wonder how much money MB make from the non refundable deposits of cancelled orders - My depost was 10%.

I walked into the dealership in Tucson and there was CLK-55 Cab sitting in the showroom floor. Now it's sitting in my garage all in the same day. Guess I was lucky. Didn't have to pay a markup either.
