2001 AMG CLK 55
My 2001 CLK 55 AMG has been stolen
Is there away to track it? It was stolen 3 days after I bought it. So I'm not completely up to speed on any anti theft equipment that was factory installed. Any help would be much appreciated.

how was it snatched?
did you get jacked at the red light, did dirtbag steal your key, did scumbag make a break in?
maybe junkies needed a fast getaway car?
how did they take your car?
by now it's probably chopped up into pieces and sold out as a parts car.
maybe you should post pics of your car if you have any with the license plate so people can look out for you if forum people are in the neighbourhood?

Unless you have LoJack or other similar aftermarket tracker, I'm afraid you are out of luck.

I believe the car is still supported but must be subscribed to get updates. There is one company supporting the legacy analog phones for these cars in the US.
My navigation system works fine and believe the ping can be traced. The 01 should have a transponder tied into the central locking system. provided it is all in good working condition.
I bet someone had a spare key drove it away or it is going to a chop shop on a flat bed.
Tracing parts with the vin number will be the only clue. All of the electronics are coded for vin, some for key and mileage.
couple of years ago a Honda was stolen from daughter living in Metro College town. stripped to the bone. Police have clues but the value of the arrest will not support their time.
Its sad, post picture and mileage of car might see if our cragslist/ebay hounds find a clue.

The Seller was not too shady.
No the seller was on the up and up. I've found out who the shady person is. Now it's back to how to track it to find out where it is then to what extent I want to go to reaquire the vehicle.

Get involved with your local MB Dealership. The license tag cover has a history. A transaction receipt or witness might be needed to get help from them.
That car can be immobilized.
