Anyone Interested In...

Want to know if anyone is interested in the OEM air box but with my modifications?
Its pretty much like the Renntech air box minus the carbon fiber AND price.

See video below.
Note: this is the AMG air box but yours the black n silver get the same work. But price is cheaper. For the AMG boxes it’s $625.00

My air box will give you the 10HP 10TQ across the entire RPM range. And also you will notice much better throttle response.
Renntech air box (amg version) is $1,580.00 and you have to send YOUR air box to them for the modification. You might also have to pay shipping...
My price is $495.00 to your door! Now comes with bell mouths for more power!

Any questions just ask here or send me an email to speed43mods(@)gmail.com

Thanks for reading.

Thanks Pete, I just got a private message from another person, and he too is wanting to send his air box to be worked on. This is turning out to be a good thing. Which I'm glad because the guys that own the W202 C43 seem to be short on cash or not interested in more power. Which is sad because that car benefits greatly with the air box modded. That box made 10HP/10TQ, makes the car so much more fun to drive.

Anyone else interested just send me a PM or email.

Thanks.

I am in.

Plan to send my C55 air box to Speed43 in the next day or so and let him do his magic.

I have been watching his threads on the other forums for some time and his mod was always of interest to me, especially since the aftermarket performance parts for a C55 are few and far between.

I was considering a Renntech box, but after seeing one in person, I was less impressed than I thought I would be.

I believe their HP claims are accurate, and they surely have many satisfied customers, but the box itself did not overwhelm me. Overzealous pricing was another factor.

The CF looks like a thin laminate and it just did not look that well crafted (which it should for $1.5k, IMHO).

Besides, I hated the thought of giving up my OEM box to them, so for the cost and the fact I can keep my own air box, I am going to use Speed43 for my upgrade.

I know any modded air box only has so much potential for an increase in HP due to other factors, but to me it is worth it considering I can get this done for a fraction of the price of a new Renntech box.

I will post my impressions once it is done, so stay tuned.

"Besides, I hated the thought of giving up my OEM box to them."

I never thought about that, I wonder what they do with the top portion. They should give the option for their customers to have them back.

Btw, when shipping your air boxes to me, don't send the bottom portion. Keep that along with the air filters.

Thanks for everyone's interest and business.

For the C55 air box I do not sorry. I base the power on the C43 air box that was dynoed at 10HP/10TQ. The C43 box is done the same way I do this C55 box. So it should make the same power. Also, renntech air box makes the same power as well, that's what they claim and forum guys have dynoed the box and they said the claim was true....

I do the C55 air box the way renntech does minus the carbon fiber. So I know it makes power.

Here's the stock color of the modded air box for the clk NONE AMG. This is the box for $395.00, it's not the AMG box. For the AMG box it's $650.00. If you send back your AMG Box I will refund you $260.00.

George just shipped my C55 box back to me today.

He knew I needed it in a hurry, so he worked overtime to get it back to me.

You don't get that kind of customer service with Renntech...

I will do a review here once I get it installed and dialed in. Can't wait to get it.

Thanks George!

I wanted to write a review for those interested in the air box modifications by Speed43. First I wanted to point out that I wanted my stock AMG air box modified, so I could retain the stock look.I was on a tight schedule when I sent my air box and throttle elbow pipe to George and he completed the modifications and painted my air box in 2 days. He shipped it the next day. He emailed me with his progress during and let me know when it was completed and shipped, truly great customer service. The modified box looks great and the paint very closely matches the original color. Now for what most want to know, did it make a difference. I don't have dyno sheets with before and after numbers, I can only give my opinion. At first I was skeptical the exhaust sounded louder and there was more intake noise. It took around a hundred miles before the computer recalibrated to the modified air box and then it was suddenly a much quicker throttle response, it revved much much quicker and was breaking the rear end loose when it hit the pass down gear from 40 mph. I won't claim horsepower numbers but the difference feels similar to when I first had my Eurocharge tune done. My car has Kleenman headers, customer exhaust and a tune, the modifed air box just made it that much better.

Thank you George....

I will second everything written above. George was great to work with. He always kept me informed and shipped back very fast.

I too wanted the stock look and did not want to give up my OEM box to Renntech, so I was interested in George's mod as an alternative.

No dyno numbers either, but much better throttle response, especially from 2,000 rpm and up. A nice crisp and smooth linear flow of power, any speed, any rpm.

Very happy with my decision to use George. His craftsmanship is excellent, and for the price you won't find a better or cheaper power mod, IMHO.

Thanks from me too George. Nice doing business with you.

Thank you guys!
Its been nice offering this mod to you guys. And I appreciate your comments very much, I don't make a whole lot after it's all done and shipped. But the kind words help out alot in continuing to offer these boxes.

I do have one in stock if anyone is interested. You can send me your box and I will switch the engine builder tag and ship the modded box the same day with FedEx.

Or you can buy the box and when you receive it you can send me yours. And once I get yours I will refund the extra cash you paid. Whatever works better for you, just let me know. Thanks.

Do you also modify the airboxes for a 2002 CLK55? If so, what's the cost with/without a core?

I just ordered a modified box for my CLK55 project car from speed43. I'll do some A-B testing against my stock box at the dragstrip to see if the modification improves my 1/4 mile time. I should have that info in a few weeks.

Thanks. If you send me your air box I will mod it for you. Right now I don't have any of the ones that look like the above picture. Which also fits the W202 C43.

If you can't send your box I can try finding one on eBay... Let me know.
