P0446 has me stumped

Hey all, throwing a p0446. I took it in to an indy who suggested I replace the evap switch under the hood, gas cap and valve cover gaskets. I did all that and got the code again. I took it to MB of Austin and they said it was the charcoal canister, shut off valve and MAF I replaced all of those too and still get the code. They were all replaced with oe mb parts. What is there left to do? Oh. I replaced the harness at the shut off valve also.

Sounds like all bases covered for this code except crankcase breather pipes or a loose pipe on the MAF.
I think the shops would have found this.
Wire problem likely or coding malfunction in tune. hmmm!
If star is available you could get deeper with diagnostics in EPC.
Any fuel tank service in the past?

all the breather hoses are also new. Since this post I took the car to another dealer who said the fuel tank pressure sensor was reading -43 and was the issue. That was replaced with an oe part and I got the same code on the way home
they had the car for 5 days. I did replace the fuel sending unit when I got the car because it was leaking.

Waaa, sorry to hear you spend that much $$$$ & time with NO results, especially when dealer pretend they save your auto world..,

i think your issue related to "purge valve/charcoal filter/air pressure in tank"..!,,

did you check any of these..??

Air should not been build in fuel tank, it's must be sucked & burned through the intake,

if all these you already replaced, with hoses, then check the EGR & EGR hoses,

if they're also good, then you will have check the harness well, maybe some of wires insulation went bad, or some of connectors not set properlly,,

need to be little bit patience with these kind of damn puzzles..

i haven't done anything with the egr. I did wire a new plug for the fuel tank sensor. I have been wondering if I wired it correctly. It is only 3 wires though.

this has been going on so long my 190e is on it's way out from ca so I have something to drive.
