18x8.5f/18x9.5r AMG MONOBLOCK on CLK55 AMG w208?

Hello:

I am 24hrs away from purchasing these wheels and need to know if there will be any problems with the widths of the wheels.

(2) 18x8.5" AMG Monoblock Chrome w/ Kumho 225/40-18
(2) 18x9.5" AMG Monoblock Chrome w/ Kumho 255-35/18

I have seen 18x8's and 18x9's on the AMG CLK's w208, do I need to worry about the extra 1/2" interfering with anything?

Thanks in advance...

Sorry I dont have the info that u need. Just one tips, make sure the offset is for CLK W208.

Also, I'm wondering doesn't your CLK 55 AMG come with AMG monoblock??

Good Luck

DO NOT buy them. If those wheels are really AMG Monoblock in 18x8.5 and 18x9.5, they are for the S-class, the offsets are way off, you need to put spacers (which is always not a good thing).

The offset is ET38... and they are original AMG Monoblocks. Still not ok?

I have searched through my AMG catalogues but I couldnt find any Style II Monoblock with ET38, nor can I find 18x9.5 Monoblock. Ummm.....something is wrong here. Either my catalogues are wrong or those are not authentic AMGs.

Well, if you are confident enough to take the risk. You can try.

Check this out for me... I am talking to the guy right now, and he says the fronts are ET35 and the rears are ET37. Does this match anywhere in your books. He might be talking about the 18x8 and 18x9 sizes. What are the offsets on those. Lemme know quick B4 I work anything out with this guy...

Ill wait 4 your reply...

Check this out for me please, I think I deserve a "please", do I? :p

Well, 18x8.0 ET31 (p/n: 66031007) and 18x9.0 ET35 (p/n: 66031001) are the numbers on my book.

I think you should ask him for the part numbers of the wheels instead.

Sorry, my bad... Next time Ill remember to say "please." :p

Anyway, this guy claims these are original AMG Monoblock wheels in chrome (they do have the logo on the wheel also). He is guaranteeing it also... They are:

(2) 18x8.5" ET35 (fronts)
(2) 18x9.5" ET37 (rears)

Now, I am assuming with this offset I shouldnt have problems, but I need advice before I pay this dude... Please...

AMG wheels never come in chrome. All chrome AMGs are done aftermarket. As I've said, I cant find any 18x9.5 on my catalogue, so its a matter of who you believe in. I have seen replicas with AMG logo on the wheel!! Thats why I asked you to ask him for the part number. Each wheel should have a part number engraved on the back. If he cant give you that, then I am almost sure that those are replicas.

If we just based on the offset numbers, you should be okay.

Good luck, maybe let us know how it turns out.

Btw, I was only kidding about the "please", I am more than happy to help out.

Thanks. I have emailed the guy for the part numbers. I will forward these to you, and maybe you can see if they are legitimate. As you said, if he cannot provide p/n's to me, then perhaps they are replicas or something. We will see. Thanks again...

Hi Harris,

How about the style II amg rims 9x18. They are listed under the e55 '02 rim options on the Harton site. Will they properly fit an '02 clk55?

Harris:

No word from the guy yet on the p/n's, but here is his listing below... I contacted my Mercedes dealer and you were right, there was never an 18x9.5" AMG Monoblock made and the 18x8.5" is only good for the S-class, so I have no idea what this dood is on...

Yup! You can use 18x8 and 18x9, the same ones I listed a few posts earlier.

I would suggest you NOT to buy the wheels.

Here is what I know: the manufacturer of replica wheels usually only makes one generic offset. Let's say a S-class uses ET44 and a C-class uses ET34, the safest thing to do is to make a ET38/39 wheel, so that it can fit both cars. It is too costly for them to make a replica with ET44 offset and one with ET34 offset. So, if your guy is absolutely sure that his wheels have ET38 offset, then I can almost certain to say those are not genuine AMGs.

Good luck!!

Those numbers dont exist on MB Canada's network nor MBUSA's network!! If they ever do exist, those are European part numbers, which I doubt they are.

Also, the front wheels should have the same part number, so do the rear two. Why does he have one part number for each wheel?? That doesnt sound right.
