Intercooled HPS SC Custom Kit

I have taken my time installing the blower. I wanted an intercooler too. HPS was great to help machine the pulley smaller.

I designed an intercooler and got it all installed. Will go to the dyno soon. Boost at about 4psi. Nice and cool.

go see at

Why would you want a smaller pulley? Don't you want a larger lighter one so your engine does the same rotation but results in more power?

He want a smaller pully from the supercharger side,.

The smaller the pully., the faster the SC turns... and the most boost it produce.

4psi should be extremely safe with intercooled supercharger with OUT any fuel managment added....

Is that what you are truing to do ?????

Interested in your Numbers

I installed the Kleenman Super charger on my 02 CLK 55 Cab. The company that installed it has not been able to get a good dino. By adding 50% more HP I feel my car should be faster. So I was wondering what you are getting. Also where are you located it would be interesting to compare the two cars.

No longer car shopping...
Stormy - pretty certain you did not mean to say 50% HP increase, correct? In the past the HPS and Kleeman have been compared and the Kleeman generally show greater HP gains. But that's only logical as the stock HPS has no intercooler. Running @ 4psi AND an intercooler, he will probably see some gains but may need more psi in order to match up favorably to your kleeman. Of course, he also paid about 50% less than you did as well. Sounds like an interesting project. Pls keep us up to date. Love hearing the details. The Dyno chart looks more like a stock 55 than a SC'd one. 1.22*290 (peak HP on chart) only yeilds 353.x. Maybe it's the small boost?

HPS Intercooler System

I will go to the dyno soon. I tested with a good O2 and found it lean. It was my problem and I am correcting.

By the way. With ANY Supercharger, one needs to have some sort of fuel mang system. Any time you increase HP you need more fuel.

I think we found the problem

It appears Kleenman sent the super charger with the wrong pully (85mm)which is why the low dyno numbers. I am putting the new pully (77mm)on this week and I will give you the results.

Count me in can't wait to see some heavy hitters. I'll check and see if a local dyno shop I know of in HB can run the cars there on a Saturday. Maybe we should start a list so I know how many are coming so I can tell them. Is this day going to be for S/C MBZ'z only cause I'm cool with that

Put the new pully on big difference. Only had 2 quick races since new M3 the other WRX smoked both by several cars. The M3 pulled up gave the thumbs up and was a little shocked.
