W208 M113K Swap Questions
Hello all, I've been lurking these forums for solutions to many of my issues with my W208 CLK55 AMG. As of recent, my motor may be toast. The idler pulley bearing seized and over-torqued the bolt, shearing it in the block. I am in the process of drilling and tapping, but I'm not confident it will come out without removing the motor. So, It has re-raised my interest of doing a M113 to M113K conversion. I am aware of the coding troubles, supercharger clutch engagement (I'll be using a fixed pully replacement from VRP), etc, etc. I'm not asking for pros and cons. What I would like to know is,
1.) Where can I get an M113K Motor from? Is there anyone on here that might be selling one?
2.) Are there any reputable shops anyone knows about in the Detroit or Chicago area that can perform this swap completely (coding and all)? If nothing in these areas, I could consider shipping further south to Florida or (possibly) the west coast.
3.) If I am able to get the engine bolted in, how much might one of those shops charge just for reprogramming?
4.) Does anyone have recommendations for which car I should get an M113K ECU from (if it is not included with the motor assembly)?
Any help is greatly appreciated. If all works out well, this may become a documentation area on how to do the swap (maybe I could publish a write-up for others that want it all laid out).

First off, what year is your clk55? Does it have ME2.0 or 2.8?

It is a 2001. I haven't checked myself, but I have read that 2001 was the last year for ME 2.0. So I believe it is ME 2.0, but I cannot say for certain until I check.

R129 SL55 AMG & W208 CLK55 AMG
May I speak from experience? It may not be the same as yours but I hope I contribute positively.
I own an R129 SL from 1999
I swapped my M113 5.0 engine with a 5.4 Naturally Aspirated one from AMG.
It was a direct bolt-on, Works like a charm with my ECU ( DME )
In your case, you're going for a Supercharged M113K engine so that's a different ball game.
Kleemann identified my ECU as a ME2.0, and it needs to be physically tuned not remotely.
My car is a 1999 model, and here is a picture of my ECU

It's my understanding that all US CLK55s, both 2001 and 2002, had ME 2.8.
Also, if memory serves, both of my OBD scanners showed this info (iCarsoft MB 2.0 and Autel MD802) on my C55. You may be able to verify for yourself with an OBD scanner.

Ayyy im actually in the middle of doing this swap myself! But with a W209. If you can find a shop to do the swap I have the number of a guy who can recode the vin to the new engine to the ECU for you. The best thing to do is to buy a donor car for the swap since it will have the wiring harness, ECU, engine and little odds and ends you'll end up needing plus you can sell parts off to make some money back. Good luck man
