Half way point M113K swap

I just thought I'd give an update now that I'm halfway through my swap and actually may or may not hit my goal of May 22nd!

Nothing has been too bad just getting my EIS out which required taking apart the whole center console, and lower dash in order to reach it. I should be getting my ECU, EIS back tomorrow from getting it retuned to match the new vin.
The rest has just been taking out each engine so its been pretty straight forward except the S55 having all those hard lines for the ABC.

Tomorrow im going to start the work on switching the oil pan and pump from the M113 to the M113K since the CLK has a unique oil pan and pump set up (i think its like the E55 but im not sure). I think i need to attach the A/C pump from the M113 to.make it fit but im not sure a lot of this im figuring out as I go so any advice or links to old threads will be helpful!

What nice is that the previous owner of the S55 already had his rear main seal replaced and i have a new alternator, and crank sensor. I think those are all the hard jobs to replace and better to do it now while its all out lol.

Check out my Instagram too for pics

I'm guessing you are swapping your 5.4 NA M113 out? Or 4.3?

Here the CLK just before we pull the motor. Its an '05. We thought it would be easier to pull of the whole front end to work with and it really was

Just another angle

The engine is pulled, my dad did this while i was at work. You can see where the oil pan is split in to sections, a little bit sits up front just in front of the purple sway bar while the rest sits behind the front axle in front of the tranny. Which is why the oil pan and pump needs to be switched

The M113

My goal has always been to throw a M113K into my CLK and honestly i wouldnt have embarked on this project so soon if it was for the fact i found this donor '03 S55 for a steal!!! So if anyone needs any W220 parts i got them on the cheap

And the engine is out! It was such a B**** trying to find the thread for the front of the S/C in order to lift it. Thanks to the W211 forums they said it was a wheel bolt but wasnt sure from what car, Ironically its from the CLK lol im just glad i kept my bolts after converting to lug nuts

yeah sometimes I wish I did, just because there's actually seems to be a lot more aftermarket support for the W208s lol

Thanks man, I've decided to wait a little longer because I ordered some Moscow Supercharge headers and a UPD high stall torque converter since everything is already out lol but me and my dad are working on adding the mooneyes pedals I got and we just finished making the brackets so I can install my pro-rally bucket seats on the factory rails and have power bucket seats like that guy who did the manual swap CLK (I can't remember his username). I can't post a video but there's one on my Instagram.

like anything specific? We plan on swapping the oil pans probably this Friday. We took a break to do the interior. I wanted it to look like some old school muscle

These are mooneye pedals i got since they have a huge heritage when it comes to drag racing. Me and my dad trimmed the brake pedal to get that just right

The gas still uses the same plastic pedal, we just drilled, and tapped the metal and screwed it on top. I just had to angle it a bit so it can go WOT with out any interferences. The hardest part is my tap and die set is in metric and NOBODY carries metric drill bits! So i just got as close as i could with standard and it worked

Heres the oil pan from the M113K. Me and my dad kind of went in blind since were both more a do it type. We were worried since the the S has one oil pan and we werent sure about how it would bolt in. Where it bolts in to hold the pump has the same same bolts but hollow and it stays with a screw on top of it so we just switched the bolts. Its really cool actually i havent seen that before.

The M113K pump and pan

Fits right in!

One of bolts snapped but thats a problem for future me

The things we switched were: The pump The base (im not sure what its called, its the part between the block and the pan) The little plate (you can see here) The pan

Everything sealed up and new pan and pump in place. Fits like a glove

I also forgot to mention that I got my high stall torque converter came in! Now im gust waiting on the MSC headers. My one regret is that I changed so much I can't tell how each individual thing has affected the way it drives. For the most part the whole drive train has been changed from a TCU tune and new torque converter to a whole new customer exhaust. The closest I can relate it driving my girl's E55 but even then it was such much heavier then my CLK. I really am excited on how far I've made it in such a short time considering my lack of experience and working when me and my dad are both free

Still waiting on the headers and having to figure out how to upgrade the fuel pump for the swap! So while I wait I splurge and got new (to me) wheels, KW V2 coilovers and to tie both of those together some spacers/ bolt pattern adapters.

I gor these from another member on here

These are siick cobra reps i got for a steal. Needs a little TLC so theyre getting resurfaces, and the face is going to be powdered coated matte black to match the flames i have on my sides of my car. Nothing screams muscle car then bullit wheels!!!

Since the wheels are from a mustang i needed an adapter kit and since KWs need a spacer, these work two fold. And funny enought i was just talking to some customer at work and got on mercedes and he told me he had the adapters i need, unused, for a project he never finished and sold them to me!

lol lucky! I haven't made any progress on my but thats because I'm waiting my headers from moscow supercharge, its been 4 months but seems worth it! I've also been buying mods too in the mean time trying to add them when I can. The one thing that sucks is winter is coming and I've gotten a promotion at work so all my free time is gone :/ I might end up paying a shop to finish because I just don't have time any more. I love the color of your CLK too 😍

I finally have an update! Its been awhile and a bunch of stuff happened. I got a promotion at my job that took a lot of my free time. My girlfriend's GLK was in accendent so we found her a siick CLS55 and then 3 weeks later someone hit her. You can check out my post in the CLS forums. We then found her a R170 SLK230. But most importantly my MSC headers finally came in a few weeks ago. I took the time to wrap them as well! Now once it get warmers I should be on the road this year!

It even had the 2 piece wheels! But im trying to look on the brightside and be happy i have a spare engine

Its a '98 and still runs strong! Going to surprise her with some coilover in a couple of months and then figure out what mods next!

I have the car on the ground! With some unfortunate family emergency and other stuff popping up im making progress slowly. I got tires now, Nitto G2s. I'm running 285 upfront and 295 in the rear. I'm surprised on how much they poke out. I wanted poke fitment but not this much. If I do move to 305 I will need to add fender flares, which I was hoping to avoid but it looks good. Its revitalized me working on my car since all this outside stuff kind had me burnt out. I'm still waiting on FTP aluminum pulley to come in, its almost been a year and they still weren't able to get me the idler pulley I ordered in black so they're sending one in sliver. The next thing I plan on doing is the fuel pump which im nervous on doing and mounting my A/F and my oil pressure Guage on my dash.

You can really see how much they poke in this pic.

You can see the spike lug nuts. Its the little things that pull it together lol
