Anyway, the C32 sportcoupe is still an "AMG-Special" vehicle. None of the special vehicles have ever come to the USA. Only when they become "AMG-series" vehicles do they come here.

Another $15,000 for AMG mods would bring the car in the $42,000 range. Throwing good money after bad?
The Sportscoupe is selling quite well in the US. Mercedes hoped to sell 15000 of them in the first year, they've sold 12500 in the first nine months of sales. Current sales have been average about 1300-1500 a month. To put this in perspective, for April 2002 BMW sold 2142 3-series coupes and MB sold 1438 C230Ks - I think 2/3s the sales of the 3-series coupe is pretty good, this is slightly better than the sales difference between the C-sedan (4133) vs. the 3-series sedan (6545). Worldwide Coupe sales are even better (only in the US do people think hatchbacks are "cheap") with 59000 coupes sold so far.
As for the price of the C32 AMG SportsCoupe Special, the price tag in GB is 40,000 pounds = $58000 US; not exactly cost effective when compared to the price of an AMG Series vehicle.

The C32 sportcoupe may get better wheels, dual pipes etc, however the price for the C32 sedan, and the C32 sportcoupe in the UK is the same.
I know which one i'd buy for that money...

[BIf correct, this data is indeed impressive. Dealers here have a hard time selling the C sports coupe...perhaps a regional quirk. [/B]

The LA and SF metro areas are probably the only parts of the entire US where you see more foreign than domestic cars (excluding SUVs, of course!).
Funny, as I was typing this, a Cobra just blasted by my office at about 75 mph and 120 db.
