Fan clutch replaced
So last week, I took my car in for a fan clutch replacement. The clutch was previously slipping so bad you could literally stop the fan with your hand.
Car was running warm and AC would blow warm air when stationary.
Anyways, clutch replaced and now engine runs much cooler and AC is ice cold all the time.
Problem is, the fan is so much louder than before. In fact, I think it's much louder than when the car came out of factory. It definitely howls when you floor it and I don't think that's normal at all.
Is this going to go away or do I need to consider looking into other reasons and causes? Mechanic says it's normal and the clutch is doing what it's suppose to but the noise. No way that's normal.

Here's a good fan clutch explanation. https://www.rockauto.com/genImages/9...ts_6980012.pdf
When I got my car with 9x,xxx miles the clutch made no noise at all, but I never really checked it and the car didn't run hot. It was a Behr clutch and I replaced it with the same for the sake of preventative maintenance. After replacing it I got the low rpm roar. It 's aggravating because I'd get the fan noise whenever I hammer it from a stop, regardless of the temp. I replaced it again thinking it may be defective and nothing has changed. In the past I've had older cars and a roaring fan clutch was usually an indication that it has failed.
According to the link above, the viscous fluid drains back and potentially roars upon start up. Afterwards, the thermal clutch controls fluid movement once the temperature element has reached the specified temp and helps increase cooling effectiveness, rather than "free wheeling" at low temps. Maybe someone else will chime in but this has been my experience fwiw.

Update
The Meyle fan clutch my indi shop installed is too loud, drained my car of power and is causing major fuel consumption.
It obviously is not working right, so I went ahead and ordered the Sachs one.
Fingers crossed.

Yeah my behr after 4 years started to sound like a jet engine, price increased on them by $40.
got a replacement from fcp euro but with the cooler weather have been running without one and temps have remained good, aux fans will kick in to cool her down if needed. She also feels wayyy better/torquier with that like 10-15 lbs of parasitic loss off the auxiliary’s. Hoping the new one isn’t too loud but prices for sachs is $150 and genuine Benz $200.

ignore..
Anyways guys, replaced the clutch with another one from Sachs and it's all good now.
I am guessing the clutch I got the first time may have been stored incorrectly and the fluids inside were not viscous enough. I don't know but I gave it enough time with no avail.
I am happy now.
