Well I don't have that problem, but I would check the seals around your door for any tears or rips. It might be difficult to find as it could be on the inside fold of the seal.

I'll do that, maybe the water tracked across from the door opening. Funny thing is, when I lifted the inside half of the carpet(starting from the middle of the car), I found water on top of the plastic air duct coming from under the center console where it comes down from the dash???

That is very strange. It would be very unlikely that the windshield isn't correctly sealed, you'd probably hear it on the highway if it was. I still think it must be comming from the drivers door seal. Get in the car with a flashlight and have someone with a hose blast around the door and windshield and maybe you can tell where the leak is coming from.

you better handle that pretty quickly!! Check the evaporator drain on the left side of the evap case. If you pull the driver side underdash panel and then peel the carpet back from the console area you should be able to see the drain. It looks like a plastic hose about 1.5" in diameter with a rubber fitting on the end. You could also put the car on a lift and look up into the transmission tunnel. If its not connected, all the condensation from running the ac is going into the floor of the car which is not good for the electronics!!!!!!!

I'll check that as well, but I attribute at least some of the water to a heavy rain. The car was parked on a level surface, and after the rain, the driver's side carpet was soaked.

Any info on removing the door sill, kick panel, and anything else that might be holding the carpet down, would be appreciated. I'd also like to remove the screen over the cowl area.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Don't know if the following is related but it comes from another thread on the boards. Your problem may be coming from the AC evaporator not draining to the outside?
Here's the thread:

Here's a quote from that thread:
Not knowing exactly where the smell comes from it's hard to say, however there was a M-B tech bulletin in September of 03

Thanks. Still haven't figured it out unless it's the w/s leaking. I took the cowl screens off but couldn't see very deeply. I looked underneath but wasn't sure what to look for. Any pics or greater info on what to try would be appreciated?

Dealer said it was one of the four sunroof drains, the left rear. Who would have thought that that much water could come through the outer seal, which appears to be in excellent condition, and overwhelm the other three drains enough to cause flooding of the driver's side front floor area? Fortunately it was caught in time before any damage to the floor had occured.

Best wishes, unfortunately the stealership can be a very scary place for some enthusiasts. It's a shame it has to be that way, it doesn't. By the way, I'd be interested to know if your stealer has ever heard of my situation. Where the outer seal is good, and just one blocked sunroof drain(left rear) can be responsible for flooding the driver's side floor area? Thanks!
