New Clk 55 Ad
The 2005 CLK 55 now comes standard with Front 6 pot calipers and true 2 piece floating rotors. The Rears are 4 pots with a single fixed rotor. Sounds like this car is getting better and better over time

All of these improvements have irritated me because the 209 CLK55 was a completely new design in 2003, so I figured that I wouldn't have to worry about there being any signifigant upgrades for at least three or four years. Of course, there's always going to be a bigger, better, deal coming out, but I just didn't expect it so soon! Also, I wouldn't have bought wheels for my car if it had come with 18" wheels originally...
The dual exhaust they can keep as far as I'm concerned. For one, it doesn't make any more power, it adds weight, and complicates under-body aerodynamics. I also think that the single twin-tip muffler looks a little bit more understated...
I'd love to have everything else though!
Best regards,
Matt

I am thinking about getting a brand new CLK 55 to put next to my E55.

Hey Matt
At first I was outraged as well. I actually tried real hard to trade up to a 2005 CLK 55 but the numbers for my car just weren't there. Dealer was trying to low ball me.
I finally came to a realization....in a few more years a totally new CLK 55 will come out with a whole new look ( I assume it will look more like the CLS) and a brand new V8 engine from AMG. So not getting the new 2005 CLK 55 might have been the best thing for me. I like the look of the new CLS much better.
