that clk63 blk is one sweet car. i'm 43 i can see myself in it. a gallardo is over the top for me. i'm going to the show on monday - honda s2000 cr, clk63 blk, new g37...yea finally some interesting cars.
the W203 AMG is probally one of the best track cars for AMG, since it weighs the least of any of them.
But if u take a stock AMG with stock rims and tire and brakes ect. I can say More than half of them would embarrass their owners.

And my personal favorite, a pic with the man himself, Volker Mornhinweg...I am on the right.

Would the ROW seats be available for purchase and retrofit into non-black series vehicles?

Anybody at the autoshow notice a lap timer on the dash?
I bought a 2003 GT2 NEW and while shopping all around the US for one that was loaded with everything including the 'kitchen sink' and the ones I found were in the high $180s or low $190s. I was then fortunate enough to locate one in West Palm Beach, Florida p.s. I still have the window sticker from mine if I need to check it out!

I sat in both the driver and passenger seat of the CLK63 Black this past Thursday night at the AMG preview party. I did Not see any lap timer device at all, and I know what they look like because my Porsche 997S has one on the dash.
I placed a deposit on the car Thursday without knowing the price. If production is limited to 350 cars then this car will be in enormous demand even if the price is in the $135ish range. I only hope that MB keeps the production numbers low (for selfish reasons).
This car seems to have all the makings of being a truly special car. I can't stop looking at the photos of the car. It's elegantly aggressive and it's unique from anything out there now, imo.
Thanks, I found the piece that was on worldcarfans.
"AMG Instrument Cluster with RACETIMER".... The carbon-embedded AMG instrument cluster with its 320/km/h scale furnishes an exclusive ambience and high functionality at the same time. The AMG main menu in the cluster is perfectly tailored to serious racing: it shows the current gear engaged, as well as an upshift recommendation in "M" mode,or alternatively engine oil temperature or battery voltage, as well as the RACETIMER. This function enables the driver to determine his lap times on a closed course. The RACETIMER stores the time of the fastest lap, average and maxium speeds, and the length of the laps."
Apparently, the AMG instrument cluster furnishes this timer, but how do you activate the timing, even if the display is on the dash, still gota press the button. Wheres the button?

It's probably all controlled through the Multifunction display and would just be one of the arrow buttons or something on the steering wheel.

Thanks for the heads up on that Jim, I had no idea that this car had a Racetimer function. There was no power in the vehicle so we could not operate the instrument cluster. That is a cool item for this car.
I wasn't even thinking, the MBWorld people should have met up at the AMG Night. Oh well, it was lots of fun anyway, I really wanted to sit in the new C-Class though.
