I'm baaack! Guess who dropped in for lunch today? NO.... not E.T.! Yep.... the CLK63AMG BS! They delivered her from Columbus, Ohio today. The General Manager and my Salesman both came up to pay me a visit and bring me a present.

The car is unbelievable! It looked unreal coming down the drive. The White really stands out and the all carbon fiber looks fantastic against the White background.

I was going to try and post some pics of her but there was a slight problem. The only way to get a pic of the CLK Black today was from the deck of Noah's Ark! You see.... we had another day of torrential rain here in Ohio!

So you're just going to have to wait until tomorrow or Saturday for me to get some pics for you. Meanwhile.... here's a couple tidbits about the Black Series.

The seats grab your *** like like an alligator latching on to its prey. When I sat down and started the car, these arms from both interior sides came out and scared the hell out of me. I thought the monster 'Alien' was attacking. Turned out just to be the automatic seat belt arms presenting the belts to you and virtually saying, "OK Dummy, put your seat belt on!"

Next interesting thing is the 'Sound of Music'! Damn she sounds sweet! The movie 'Deep Throat' has nothing on this car. It sounds like a lion ready to charge! Magnificent! Remarkable!

The interior trim is really sharp. The side panels of the doors have this kinda quilted look. The dash is sweet and the controls are well laid out.

After the 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive up from Columbus, the guys even stopped at the local gas station to fill up the tank! Plus, when I took the CLK to an appointment I had at 1:00, I was setting up the radio and went to see if I had Siriius radio as an option. Not only do I have Sirius radio, the two salesmen even activated my subscription for me. That's the first time in two years since I started getting Sirius radio in my cars that anyone has bothered to start my subscription for me! How's that for service and good customer relations?

She sits so low, I'll probably have to clean the spit from ants off the front spoiler chin after each time I have her out! I'm really happy I got her and can't wait to share some pics and more info with all of you.

Hopefully, tomorrow or Saturday, I'll take some neat pictures and certainly provide some more details on this 'super stealth' machine! Mags

I guess I'll tow the line then...I got mine Tues but have been so busy I only had the time for an hour drive and some quick shots...Sorry to steal your thunder, Mags, but I agree with you in every way...this thing is pretty sick. My buddy with a 997TT is now trying to get one...yes folks, its THAT good. AMG hit the nail on the head with this one - HARD. Mine is getting clearbra'd and tinted as we speak. Regarding the ride height MAgs referred to...it is indeed very low. So low I almost cannot get into my driveway...I told the wife we may have to sell the house Too bad too becasue it does need to be lowered a bit IMO. Otherwise, the car is really amazing. To those that say it's overpriced....drive one. The sound, build quality, uniqueness, performance, did I mention the sound ?? Anyway, more technical comments on it after a day at Big Willow

I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on how it compares to your 430. Congrats, I love the color.

 

Interesting question...the CLK63 feels tighter than the F430. The ride is stiffer in the CLK63, but when you hit the bumps, it is not as jolting like the F430. They both have character, but different. The F430 holds the ground better into turns, but the CLK63 seems easier to handle if you get in trouble. The more I try to write this, the harder the question is to answer. They both are great and it is hard now to choose what to drive. The CLK63 is my daily driver and the F430 is weekends and night driver.

 

I think that pretty much says it all. Thx for the comparison.

Its the same reason why it doesn't have rear seats. Its a track car.

 

I don't think I would've let them drive it for 3 hours before I got to drive it. If you're gonna spend that kind of money on a car like this at least be the first one to drive it.

So magwheel, what is it that you don't understand and makes you think I'm phony. I'm not parading around saying I have 10 cars or whatever your count is now days. I had a C55 & Cayenne. Sold it for a Cayenne CTT and it spent it's first week in the shop with over 4 issues and 3 recall items. I decided to trade for a Gallardo instead of shooting for the lemon law. At one point I had a deposit on a CLK black as I love the car, but kept getting the run around on delivery time and color options. I simply moved on. So what is your fuss really about??
