Buying a BS as a weekend car?

clkslk,
Are you going to show up at the track or not? A simple yes or no will do.
BTW, you're over the line on the comment about my daughter and I'm assuming you thought it was humor. It happens to be liable per se, the worst of which will keep you from owning anything worth driving including an M3, and the least banned from the forum which we wouldn't want to happen.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I don't want to turn this into a legal forum, and your right about having enough lawyers. However clk hit the one exception. Imputing the unchaste character of a female is a slam dunk actionable tort anywhere except maybe political debates.

I've spoken to seven owners of CLK 63 Blacks who have or had porsche turbos 996 and 993's. All passed on the 997tt in favor of the Black. I think AMG hit the bulls eye on the car. FWIW, I know Fletcher Jones has two black Blacks.

1)Jim - Don't take it personally bro, even though that's exactly how he intended it...making attacks and innuendos of that nature are the true signs of when someone has reached the end of their personality and intelligence.
2) You are very kind to offer him a ride, I wouldn't let that little punk wash mine...
1) First of all, I never started the personal attached (if that's what you called it). Second, "for every actions, there's a re-actions".
2) No, in two years, I'll wash mine own after you already pay the premiun for me already.

Guys,
We should just let Mr. CLK/SLK's comments go unanswered. I think we are just dealing with someone from a culture that views defiance as a virtue, and every response will just get an argument back. You'll note that he didn't respond to my post at all, which suggests there's a point he doesn't want to acknowledge.
The daughter reference says alot about him, so I'd suggest we walk away.
Ficlkeone is right on target, and he is someone with enough experience to know.
On the warranty side, my dealer has already stepped up on a tire with an impact injury (bubble on the outside, rent on the inside) with a free set (yes all 4) of Bridgestones (since the Pirelli wasn't yet available), plus the Pirelli when it came in.
On the resale of an AMG issue, when I put my E55 up for sale, it lasted about 30 seconds, literally. A friend heard I was selling and had his brother buy it before the ad could even hit autotrader. My cost per mile in depreciation was equal or less to every Audi or Lexus I ever bought, and less than what I expect on my 996tt, if I ever decide to sell it. AS

It is a great weekend car and a great everyday car if you need that as well! I have been driving mine for a couple of weeks straight now and love every minute of it!

2012 Cayenne Turbo
CLK&SLK,
What's your point?
Do you think anyone here didn't realize they could get an M3 for half the price? Guess what? In my judgement , and I'm guessing my fellow Black Series owners judgement, the M3 is an inferior car. I have owned an E46 M3 and an E63 M6 and they both are lesser cars to the CLK63 Black. And the new M3 is slower than my M6 which is slower than my CLK63 Black.
And as far as quality is concerned you don't know what youre talking about. My M6 had tons of issues, including a failed engine (V10 motor that the V8 in the M3 is based). And if you don't believe me try going to an M5/6 forum, just go to search and type in "oil".
And if that's not good enough check out JD Power Quality rating.

Alternatively, you may be excused from this assignment by merely (i)admitting that there are always similar performing cars for less money to choose from, but that performance and price are not the only justifications or criteria when purchasing a car, especially if you are an auto enthusiast, and (ii) apologizing for acting like a child on this board.

On what basis do we assume that Mr. CLK/SLK has either? My guess he hangs around the board as an ego boost, arguing with people to whom he otherwise has no access.
My personal opinion is that his further posts should be ignored. The responses to his inane posts merely fuel his retorts. This is an individual for whom information only goes out, it does not go in. AS

Oh. So it is true that all of your knowledge about cars comes from the magazines you read and not real world knowledge, including the cars you supposedly own. Let me be the first to apologize. In order to help you frame the issue, I have posted some reading material below. Since these articles do technically compare both cars, you should now justify to us, in a semi-intelligent manner, your purchase of a CLK 500 over a similar performing but much less expensive Mustang GT, just as the good folks on this board have justified their purchase of a CLK 63 Black over an M3 to you. I know the articles don't lay it out completely for you, so it may take some original thought. Bonus points will be awarded if you can state your case without insults.

I was right, you're an IDIOT because you used the "buyer's guide" which I can used to compare an Honda to anything. As for performances, where's the head on comparision?
