I stopped into the MB dealer in Orlando, FL tonight and they have a Silver one there with the creases on both front fenders.

This talk of creases as opposed to dents is getting me a little confused and I want to make sure we are all talking about the same thing. I believe all CLK 63 BS (including mine) have a horizontal crease along the upper part of the front fenders that runs from the fender flare to the bottom gap of the side view mirror and which no one would mistake for a dent. What I thought I saw in the picture on this thread and thought we were all talking about was an additional indentation or dent on the crease right before the door. Are we all on the same page or not?

Not all BS cars have creases and on some the creases are so bad that it looks like a dent.

Im sorry but i am just not buying it. Would someone post a picture of a BS without the crease. I just dont see how its possible not to have a crease since the fender would not then match up with the curvature of the door. In fact, if not for the side view mounting plate, the door would have the same crease but instead has a panel gap between the door and the mirror plate. I just looked at pictures of about 20 different cars and they all have creases. Mine was built 11/07 and delivered late december, and has the creases, and it looks like a styling cue and not a defect.

Where did you get pictures of 20 Black Series cars?

Its there. The light is just making it difficult to see. If you go back to ATAN's original post where you got that picture and click on the last picture in the first row you will see it more clearly. As far as pictures of 20 different black series, Ebay had about a dozen listed and Autotrader had a bunch as well and then there is Dupont Registry. You just need to sort out the duplicate listings.

And i still maintain that the crease is normal since it extends the window line of the car to the front flare and parallels the line of the front fender vent. The picture of the red car above seems to show more of a dented or pushed in panel right before the door.

How about in these?

What I see in the Red car picture looks like something is wrong.

What I see in these, like mine, looks fine......

Are you talking about this area? If so, this is clearly a design feature..... and yes, I have this.

Exactly. That is why I am trying to figure out if everyone is talking about the same thing when they say they do or don't have creases (as opposed to the
apparent dent on the red car)

NO -
that line is HORIZONTAL. The "crease" that's being discussed is VERTICAL and cannot be seen in any of the photos posted except the red car above; and even in that picture it is VERY VERY difficult to see if you do not know what to look for. Like I said guys, this crease is tiny and honestly can only be seen in the right light and at the right angle...making it very diffucult to photograph.
Follow the line of the A pilar, as it meets the front fender, and the crease goes straight down from there. It runs parallel with the leading edge of the door.

To find if your car has the crease... stand in front of the front fenders and look towards the rear of it. Move your head and eyes around while looking at the area just above the 6.3 that is flush with the fender and above the top air outlet by the 6.3 AMG logo. It's about 6 to 8" below the top of the fender in that area.

Pics to help find the creases

I said I had no creases in a post above, but guess what, WRONG

MACHC5's description of the location was dead on-so I looked again and they are exactly where he describes them. I took two pics that I hope help you see where to look.

In the first pic the dark donut hole in the center of the square of light is being caused by the dent. In the second pic the inverted V in the middle of the square of light is also the location.

Car is white so it was hard for me to find them, but they are there! Oh well, I think I will keep the car anyway

I posted that I didn't have them as well... but I do (black) and it is no big deal, a non-issue really.

not just a crease it looks like someone dented the fenders if you see it in person.

Currently talking to my dealership who in turn is talking to the district rep from MB. They have taken detailed pics of my car and sent it to MB Germany. Looks like I will be getting new fenders sent from Germany if all goes as planned.

Good luck getting a local shop to match the factory paint. Keep in mind paint adheres differently to carbon fiber than it does to sheet metal. I would suggest going to Beverly CoachCraft in LA. They are hands down the best shop around.

Yes Peter runs the best body shop in southern california. But I agree there is risk involved in trying to improve the issue and I would just live with it. Part of the cars low volume.

sorry guys but no need for body shops as it will be sent to me painted from the factory. If you guys can deal with the flaws and look at it everyday then by all means. But for those of you who thinks you should get a perfect fender when you pay $$ then contact your dealer and complain.
