I wonder if a CLK63 BS can match an EVO MR

CLK 63 Black Series, 2009 S550, 2011 Range Rover Supercharged, BMW F800 GS Anniv Edition
The day I had my black series at the track (Willow Springs), there was a guy on Streets driving a heavily modded Evo...with slicks. Tubbed, racing seat, racing dash stack, moton remote reservoirs....most likely not at all street legal and the driver said it was just a track only toy. He kicked my a$$ all day long and beat up heavily on a heffner gallardo. On the big track it was a different story though....
I think that's pretty much inline with what's been said already. They are an incredible bang for the buck but I would never drive one on the street.

In the 1/4 mile yes with slicks! But not as easy as an AWD or RWD car on a road course. Major difference my friend Major difference or for you to say that means you've perhaps never driven an AWD car.. By the way a CLK BS is a factory modded CLK AMG63.

I've had an Evo IX and have a 997TT. So ummm, yea, I think I know how to drive an AWD car. And it is stupid to compare a modded car with a stock car. And yes even the CLKBS is a stock car. It complies with strict rules and regulations. Modded cars don't. End of story.

"Modded" can mean anything from a potato cannon exhaust tip to full rebuild, internal engine mods, turbos, cage, weight reduction, ad infinitum.
The comparison also depends on the course. Put them at Talledega, and it's one thing. Put them on a go kart track and it's another.
At the recent Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium, a current Red Bull F1 car driven by Coultard was slower than an Aston race car, which in turn was slower than the buggy racer that had maybe 190hp. No question about which is really faster, is there? Or, is there? AS

If you read it again I said PERHAPS you've never driven but to compare a modded honda to a modded AWD car or RWD car and taking it on a road course is a LAME comparison was my point since you brought that up. NOW end of story!!!!!Sorry if you were offended by LZH's ex. Jeez

I've driven plenty of Evos, and I've had a brief stint in a CLK63BS (very brief, but I got the general idea). Honestly, the Evo MR is MUCH faster for typical, everyday, put a smile on your face type of acceleration.
Now, could an Evo MR beat a BS on the track? I really don't know, but I doubt it (Evo has nothing over about 110mph). But for simple daily thrills, I really don't think that anything short of a crotch rocket (and a NASTY one at that) can match the Evo MR.
But hey, the fact that we're even comparing a $30,000 car with a 2.0L four banger to a $140,000 AMG monster with a hand built 6.2 liter V8 says something about how freaking amazingly impressive Evos are.
