Hi Dennis,

We checked into this software updating for the CLK63 AMG Black Series and the cost of the software development was much higher than we anticipated. Based on this cost, the fact that we have not charged our owners in past for software upgrades and the cost to deliver this to each customer (this would need to be handled much in the same way a service action would), we are going to need to look at this much harder.

The software development and changes are quite a bit more extensive than one might expect.

And one more relevant response to a question regarding availability of the software:
Hi Jimmy,

The shift reprogramming is very costly, and we need to review this further.
There is no information at the dealers.

I am not trying to be a spoil sport here but please read the beginning email of every chat session on the Private Lounge.

I like having access to information from MB USA product managers and AMG in Germany via the Private Lounge and I do not want them stop giving us this access because people are cutting and pasting Private Lounge info to other forms which you are not allowed to do. Any one who owns an AMG can join the Private Lounge and read all of this information. Cutting and pasting the links are fine but cutting and pasting the information is not.

Like I said not trying to be the forum police but they may stop providing this information to us on the Private Lounge if they know people are cutting and pasting it on other public forums.

Valid point Shelle, they do make it clear not to copy and paste "chat" text.
I don't think my original post came from chat, but fair point nonetheless.

If you cut and paste the link and someone joins the PL as the result you get brownie points for a referral.
