Questions About a CLK63BS
Currently, I drive an '07 M6, and I love it. I've been looking into a CLK63 Black Series for about a month now. I've been comparing them to each other, and I'm just really liking the AMG more. One thing I've wondered about is the top end. I know from a dig, the AMG would take the M6, the torque difference is big. Lets say the two were going from a roll, would the 63 be able to beat the V10? I've raced an E63 from a roll before, and I beat him by about 2-3 car lengths up to 140-150'ish. Also, in stock form, what have most Black Series ran in the quarter mile? I've read 12.7 but I'm pretty sure they run lower times than that.
Different subject now, I found a silver 63BS with 3,000 miles, going for $125K. Does that sound like a good deal for the miles that are on it? I've seen one silver going for $124 with 1,000 miles, but I don't know that its that big of a deal really.

wow! now come to think of it, i was talking to someone i know who may be able to help me with this transaction. he said the 110k area was reasonable, i thought he was nuts
compared to ur 119 for 17 miles, im thinking 108-110 is where it should be for the mileage!!!

I've had both and the Black Series is quicker up to 100. I'd say after that its even or the M6 will pull a little.
Quarter mile times are consistently around 12 flat for the Black.
M6-
less expensive
more functionality
better highway car
better transmission
CLK63
more exclusive
better looking
faster
better exhaust note
tighter suspension
Price - check EBay ive seen most for 125-130 - one actually for 115 - but I personally feel that those idiots are going to ruin the resale for the rest of us. It stands to reason that w only 350 of them if we all kept selling price high including dealers we could set market value - thats why it pisses me off to see some idiot dealer in the middle of nowhere selling for 115.

Weak points of M6 are it is more of a GT than an out and out sports car (though much more sporty than SL63)
Weak points of BS are auto box (if you like to row your own gears) and that the 6.2liter is multi-platform
Chiphomme's advice is good to take on board. Overall your current car is great and so is the BS. G/luck in your search.

Personally, I think the M cars roll too much on the outside front tire when you really push. The BS absolutely does not.
And the great intangible: The BS feels much more alive from the dirver's seat. You can steer with the wheel, or steer with the throttle. It is much more precise. There is no mistaking a car with a 'locking" rear differential. It is really worth having. AS

I have not driven the BS but don't doubt it will resist understeer better than the M6. The M6 is a funny car in that it is open to having it's flaws exposed by cars like the BS while the M5 being a practical "wolf in sheeps clothing" escapes that. I really think Motorsport should've made the M6 less compromised as it really is just an M5 in drag, not that that's a bad thing generally but for the perfect track weapon they could've done more.
However, I find that M cars are very steerable on the throttle.

It's on ebay right now with a BIN of $113,375 OBO and has 2,678 miles. You won't regret buying this car. We've had 50+ cars and it brings a smile to my face everytime I look at it let alone drive it. Good luck.
Looks like the BIN was hit a couple of weeks ago and it fell through at 117.9.

) it's just so much fun to play with!
(803) 786-8888 is the number. A nice sales rep named Jeremy should be able to help you out. Tell him that Sean sent you.

If you get it, let me know so I can get a bird dog fee.

Also, would love to do some runs against one.
