Want to rice out your BS with Renntech?

take a look at this spoiler...

http://www.emercedesbenz.com/Jun08/1...ck_Series.html

I actually think their rear diffuser add on is kinda cool though, but I wish it were in CF, not plastic.

jcart's Evosport BS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> this Renntech BS

Damn that's ugly! The least they could do is remove the factory lip spoiler, that would help a little....very little.

In their defense, anyone that has taken their BS on a high speed track knows the car is in serious need of some additional down force, but that looks a bit extreme. What are they offering for the front? If you put that kind of down force on the a$$ end of a car and none up front things are gonna be worse than what you started with.

...and people thought the larger lip spoiler on my car was too much! People will probably buy it because it says Renntech....If Renntech sells it it's got to be good! LOL!

Actually, I think the rear spoiler is almost identical to the factory wing MB sells for the BS in Europe as part of a performance package.

Not even close, I actually purchased a BS Euro OEM M-B DTM style wing, I just sold it to a guy doing a complete DTM widebody conversion on his CLK55. The M-B unit is not as tall, looks more finished and refined but lacks the appearant adjustability of this Renntech unit...they are both butt ugly in my opinion, that's why I choose not to use it and had a custom unit made.

Again I ask, what if anything are they proposing for the front? Unless the plain it out to near zero (which would negate the need all together), a wing that size in the rear without anything up front is going to be like riding around with 250 pounds of sand in your trunk, like everything else on a performance car there needs to be balance.

here's what they did in the front:

very similar to Evosport, but the Evosport one looks better and is CF...

Jim,
Was yours a DTM or the BS aero wing? The difference is the BS is a lot cleaner looking as the uprights don't come out of the trunk but off of the stock spoiler.

I thought it was a BS wing, that is what I requested but if what you are saying is correct it must have been a DTM wing because it had it's own mounting uprights that had to be drilled and bolted up through the rear deck lid.

Not a bad looking piece, but as you said I much prefer my CF unit if I do say so myself. The Renntech unit looks like it has about an inch more length out in front which will equate to a significant increase in downforce over mine, which makes sense because that monster rear wing is going to generate a lot more downforce on the rear than mine. Mine sticks like glue, that one must stick like Super Glue! What other performance mods did they do to it?

Find out who owns that car and let's have a shoot out...yep that's a challenge. Let's do it! I've been waiting for another modded BS to come along. The same car tuned by two different tuners, sounds like a fun afternoon to me. Where is Renntech? Miami? I'm in Chicago, Barber is about half way, right?

Sorry to be whoring, but I just read the article on the Renntech BS. Looks like they pretty much built my car with 55 less HP and they were only 5 months late to the party! I bet the poor ******* paid 35% more than what I did too! LOL!

Welcome Jaro,
I was at the AMG factory last October picking up my car and saw two AMG 63 black series with the aero package. They wouldn't let me photograph it but they confirmed it was available in europe but not the USA.

I PM'ed him, I had some issues at the Dallas division of my company, I had to fly down there last minute and did not return until the morning I was supposed to drive up to meet him. I am leaving this morning for a fishing trip in Canada for over a week. As soon as I return I plan on seeting a firm date with Zlicious

Yes they do offer an optional aero performance package, I can even furnish you with the part numbers. I was thinking about putting them on my BS, but choose to go with the custom CF one Evosport developed for my car instead.

Here are the pics to prove it.

You rent the track and I can help round up 15-20 more AMG guys with track experience to help defray some costs....who knows, maybe one or two of them (including a former pro IMSA driver/Petit Lemans/24hr Daytona winner) could show you a thing or two.

Let us know!

i'm pretty sure your BS is the ugliest example i've ever seen. In My opinion, I would much rather have the renntech Aero kit, versus having the wheels on your car. Your obviously on the evosport train because they have spent alot of time on your car. I have followed their progress on your car for awhile. I do have alot of renntech receipts and I know they dont do anything unless it has some function. Besides, Its different. And if there werent people trying different things constently There wouldnt be a 63, Bs or amg for that matter, because no one would care. My suggestion is you dont bash a company, Because they obviously have there reasons.

Reasons for what ??? Reasons for bolting on cheap azz plastic crap and charging chumps like you 300% over cost ?? Or, reasons for bolting on a nasty ricer wing above the stock wing becasue they did so much windtunnel testing to see exactly what the airflow would be between the two ?
Perhaps you have too many Renncrap receipts....

And as far as your comments regarding the Dymags v. the Renn aerokit...well, you are clearly using dollar for dollar logic. And the rencrap aero kit only slows you down while the dymags are like bolting on 30hp in unsprung weight reduction....not to mention the better handeling, turn in and braking. So, keep/enjoy you mass marketed crap ...there is a reason renn's black series didn't make the cover of a magazine.
