Review kicks in about a minute in. We knew he liked it based on his comments in his Times Online article a month or so ago, but its nice to see it live. Nice comment by Stig too, but us owners already know this.

Great thanks. I use my Black to drive daily. Did you drive the R-tronic or a manual? Also, was it the speed (performance) that is better on the Black or the handling too?

i've also driven the audi r8, and i too think it is quite over rated. It reminds me a lot of a c6 corvette. They are about the same in a performance aspect. I think a c6 vette might even be faster. This was my experience around the streets a least.

C43, SLK32, CLK63 Black Series
They are coming out with a V10 version of the R8 which should significantly improve the performance level. However, given the popularity of the car and the weak US dollar, they won't be cheap.

The latest word on the R10 (V10 version) is that is is on hold. I have a freind that owns an R8 and is first on the waiting list for the R10, they told him the car was on hold until further notice. I also have a good friend that is GM of an Audi dealership and he too stated they have delayed or stopped plans for the R10.

I'm under the impression that the first v10 caught fire and burned to a crisp on "the ring."
They then had significant heat problems on the second mule and decided to go with the diesel.
It's hearsay though, I have no proof. (But I did read it on the internet, so I'm sure it must be .... ) Your choice of words there.
