Body panels not aligned/flush...?

Just picked up a CLK63 Black Series. Awesome car! One thing I did notice is the doors do not seem to sit flush with the front quarter panels. Is this due to the difference in materials or something just with my car. Regardless will post pics up later when I get it cleaned. TIA

The fit and finish of the body panels is terrible. I have issues in the same area as you described. The vertical line/seam between the front of the doors and the back of the fender don't meet up properly. On mine the fender actually sticks out about .100"- .125". I also have some weird gaps on the rocker panels that differ and are not symetrical from drivers side to passenger side. Most people don't even notice and even when I point it out people think I'm nuts. The rest of the car and it's performance more than make up for the crappy assembly of body panels.

Congrats on the new ride

Well then that is a comforting feeling! Thought maybe it was just my car.

Because the black series full body including quarters is an add on (my friend ordered quarters for the black series and has them in his garage) the fitment wont be as good as factory, although the parts are done in house. For example, they receive a regular w209 chassis and then fit all the black series parts on the existing car. I bet a clk 350 has good fitment and the black series doesnt.

Congrats on your purchase. You'll enjoy it I'm sure. My front quarter panels are not flush with the front edges of the doors either. I guess I attributed the bad fit to the composite (plastic?) material of the front fenders are made from?
