Won't he need to pay income tax on $138,000? He amy need the $110,000 he can get on resale to pay the $56,000 or so he may owe in taxes. His accountant may find a way to lower that, but he will stoll need at least $40,000. AS

Yep, you are correct he will have to pay income tax on MSRP. If you win a car in Vegas, or anywhere you never take the car, take the cash equevalent payout option, which is usually MSRP, and is always offered by the big casinos in Vegas. That car is only worth $105k tops on the open market, but the sucker had to pay taxes on the $139k. He could have taken the $139k in cash and been about $25k ahead. At that point I'd at least drive the car for a year and beat the crap out of it!

if anyone can afford that car in today's economy, i think 85K will take it. He had an offer for 95K a few weeks ago and im betting he wished he would have taken it....or the offer was not legitimate.
