Anyone has experience with both CLK63 BS and Nissan GT-R
I have both. Here's my review from a thread in the "off topic" forum.
I only have 400 miles on it. So take this as very preliminary.
GTR postives- it's definitely faster, the transmission is more fun, it looks better than I thought it would, and I kind of like all the techno wiz bang features (the nav is definitely a step up)
GTR negatives-it sounds like a vacuum cleaner, there are too many rattles and odd noises, too many boys in souped up civics are stalking me.
The CLK63 Black definitely beats the GTR in fit and finish, exhaust note, and stage presence. And its no slouch in the performance category either.
So all in all it's pretty much what I expected.
I didn't appreciate Nissan forcing me to sign off on a form that said they'll void the warranty on the tranny if it is launched too often with the traction control off though.

Yeah it sucks but at least they're not like BMW. I had an M3 and an M6 with SMG and they hobbled the launch control on the US versions. I'm not a big 0-60 kind of guy but I definitely felt a little ripped off.
That said, I did play with the GTR yesterday and it's pretty freakin quick. I tried one run from 0-100mph with launch control off, traction control on, running all season tires, in 15 degree weather, and not really trying to nail it perfectly. I did it in 9 seconds flat. I dare say it will go under 8.

-it is definitely faster than the Black but not enough for me to really care.
-it is amazing how cheap it feels. I swear the thing is going to fall into a thousand pieces at any moment. It rattles and clunks.
-I am tired of every kid in town driving some modified POS following me or approaching me at unsafe speeds to gawk.
-On the up side I don't think anyone would tangle with me. It is ungodly fast.
Maybe I just had unrealistic expectations but I thought an $80k car would be more solidly built.
So I guess thats the secret. If you want to build a 911 Turbo killer for $50k less you have to cut corners in build quality.
The V-Spec GT-R version should be hopefully be out this year but is it worth the premium? That is the question.
I agree about the attention, I have kids following me into gas stations, riding next to me so I can't change, lanes, etc...
