I bought Vredestein Sessanta's for the street. I'm 2,500 miles into the experiment and I would say they're perfectly acceptable to me for street driving. I don't corner hard, it's mostly straight line accel.
They provide decent cornering, decent straight line grip, they're reasonably quiet, they brake well enough and are very good in the rain.
Having said all that, if I get 10k miles out of them I will buy them again, if not it's on to something else. Oh yeah, $240 each.

Michelin PS2's for me - love them. Do a search as I have previously reviewed them compared to the stock R compounds...In short, the Michelins are more then adequate for the street and occasional track day

i have vredesteins on my s550....it's been about a year and i still probably have half tread on it.....it has been about 15000 miles. Great price, they look good, and i dont have to pay for advertising and marketting costs for those f'in french tire companies ;-)
edit....i dont know in what country the vredestein's are made, but id bite my tongue if they were french too

the ps2 is the choice for many high-powered vehicle owners and the reason for this is that it's a great tire...contis are good too imo...![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

I think they are a German company.

I have Michelin PS2's on my car. For the street, they are better suited than the Corsa's, because they come quicker up to temperature. On the track, after 5 laps you can tell the difference to the Corsa's. If you don't take the car to the track, they should be good for 10K miles.

Other than the Corsas, I like the Dulop Z stars, and Bridgestone re11r's. The ps2's are garbage compared to the latter two. Ps2's and P Zeros are not worth the cost. Corsas are great but super expensive and don't last as long as the Z stars or Re11r's.

The Corsas are the best street/track tire I've found.

(steering) wheel shaking would indicate a wheel was not balanced properly, or, was not high speed balanced. I doubt it has anything to do with the camber.

thanks thats kinda what i thought r the psi. the only reason i thought the camber is cause when the wheels r turned some of the tire is not touching the ground.

Too often when tire shops mount tires they use a lubricant on the rim which makes mounting easier. The problem is the tire doesn't completely seat with the rim after it's balanced and you hit the brakes the tire rotates on the rim and is knocked out of balance.
There are other reasons you might get wheel shake.
Bent rim, out of balance rotor, worn shock, tire defect, but not camber.
Try and have the tire wheel assembly removed, deflate tire and move the tire about twenty degrees then inflate and rebalance. This solves 90% of balance issues.
You might want to have it balanced on a Hunter with road force capability.
This will tell you if you've got a defective tire construction, which happens more often then most people realize.

If rebalancing doesn't do it (make sure they use multiple small weights instead of one or two big ones), then you need to check for a bent rim (easy to do on the balance machine). The toughest to find is a tire with shifted belts. But, that usually occurs after you use them on the track. Had it in some Pirelli P zero"s but not the Corsas. AS

PS2's here as well. IMO they are MUCH better for the street than the Corsas. Last much longer, get up to temp and stay there quicker and hold up well for the occasional track day. If you actually see a difference in the Corsas on the street over the PS2's you have to be be REALLY pushing it.

so im a bit upset i took my car in to get it rebalanced. and the service manger calls me and tells me that my front right rim is bent and i say what? he said yea it wasn't bent the first time they balanced it(days ago). so me being the only person that drives it didnt bend the rim which means one of the workers had 2. what do i do?

Go and have them show you how it's bent on the balancing machine - e.g. checking runout. If you visibly can't see anything it's not bent.
In any event say that you know you have never hit anything, and the car has never been out of your possession other than to the DEALER. Thus if the wheel is bent, it must be due to deficient construction and/or malfeasance of the dealership and should be replaced under warranty or at dealers cost - hehe.
BTW I am having the balancing issues as well. I will try the 20 degree trick and report back. I do believe the tires are slipping on the rims. We marked them with a grease pen last time. I'll check and report back, as every time I take them off the car, it vibrates like hell when back on and are always 1g off or so!

Did the shop drive your car after it was balanced? You need to create some doubt in the shops mind, and if they did point to the fact that they did in fact drive the car. If they want to keep you as a customer they will try to compromise the situation and offer to repair the wheel. If you paid by credit card many companies will allow you to dispute the charges.
Other wise send them a letter stating your position, get the wheel fixed
or replaced and sue them in small claims court. Or you can appeal to the Supreme Court of MB World.

so the rim was bent in the center and they had a guy fix it for free.
but know i get a weird humming noise from the front when im on the high way curving right right and a little shake.
i took it back for a third time drove it with the mechanic and he told me it was the tires but the thing is it didnt make that noise the first time. so i have no clue what i swrong with it?
