What are the best "bang for the buck" mods for the CLK BS?
I just picked up a Silver BS with ~3,000 miles today. I just took her out for a late night spin and came back with a big grin on my face.
I would like to know what are the favorite kind of mods the members here have done that gives real results for reasonable cost. I don't intend to track the car but would like more power and increased handling in the canyons, and would like to keep the car reasonably close to stock.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I noticed that my car does not have any model designation on the trunk nor on the sides. I kind of like the "clean" look and I am sure I can have the dealer put them on at a later time should I want them. Anyone else have it like this?

I shelled out around 20K or so for the evosport ecu, intake upgrade , race headers, pipes, and rotors. With those mods, the biggest difference that I see lies in the sound of the car.
I was driving back home one day and two of my buddies happened to be waiting in front of my house. When I pulled in they told me they heard me coming and actually made a bet on whether the source of the sound was a car or a bike...

However, you have an adjustable suspension, why not start there and check your settings vs stock. Maybe the previous owner liked a softer ride.
As mentioned above, spacers are low cost and make the car look better, springs are also available.

As for the suspension settings, I am pretty sure the suspension settings are just factory settings as the first owner was not a "car guy". I can tell the car was not even driven hard because the P Zero tires basically have almost no tread wear at ~3,000 miles.

Who was the previous owner ?
RE: mods - best bang for the buck are [Evosport] long tube headers and a tune.

For the carbon filters, is this something that I can do or should I leave it to a shop? I just sold a lightly modded e60 M5 and the charcoal filters were pretty easy to remove on that car and took about 15 minutes. On the M5 it did make a noticeable difference especially in the low end.

For the 6.2 NA motors, you need to make them breathe. A lot of little things add up.
First thing i would do is lower the car a bit, then slap on a set of 19", get the CF airbox, then the complete EVOsport exhaust along with the PC tune. That should start you off in the right direction.
The factory wheels are 19's. I assume that's what you were referring to ?

If you need the product catalog, let me know.
thanks
