evosport - CLK63 Black Series with HRE CF40

Guys,

We just did another set of Carbon wheels on a Black Series. This set I was not sure about, but IMHO, they came out great (especially on a black car)

thanks

2 cents.

It looks ok. Might've looked better if you went with the full brushed silver spokes instead of just on the outside.

Got enough balancing weights on that thing? Looks like something isn't right there.

the problem with that is the strength ring shows too much and the wheel looks small.

I think it looks awesome!

does the car have spacers?......wheels look huge and like they are jutting out? I might like to see all black or maybe gunmetal.

It's always good practice to spin the wheels before mounting tires to see how true the wheel is. that way you'll know what component is out of balance.
Maybe, no one took the extra effort to move the tire around on the rim to minimize the weights needed.

dunno, they were delivered from HRE mounted and balanced.

camera tricks. They are not "jutting" out at all, and align perfectly in the wheel arch (we have built a lot of CLK63 wheels, so we have played with offsets and dialed it in). The can can be lowered fully with no rubbing. No spacers are used.

IMHO, all black is very boring. We have done some dymags this way and I do not like them at all.

here is one:

thanks

Perhaps HRE should have broken it down and spun the tire on the wheel then tried the balance one more time? If that didn't work use a different tire? Looks to me like someone just didn't want to take the time to do it right? Paint the weights black so they are less visible?

Interesting post Speed Image... but maybe it would be better as its' own thread instead of jacking the wheel thread...

Those wheels on the Porsche look sick.... they would look good on the BS for sure!

I don't love the Black/Black, the CF just blends in.

Now, these hyper-black ones we did looked amazing on a black car:

thanks

the murdered out Porsche looks great....id be interested in something like that just for the simple reason that my stock rims are murder to clean without a pressure washer and i try to avoid haphazardly spraying water on my BS. On a side note, why did u blur out the signs on the wall behind the Porsche? Trying to hide something?

(biting my tongue) No we're not hiding anything. I just prefer to blur the backgrounds to focus on the car (notice more than just the sign is blurred). What would we possibly be hiding?

Brad,
Are these wider wheels than stock, if so did you upgrade tire size also? I can't see the tire size in the pics. I think they look ok, not as good as the Dymags tho. Thanks.

The wheels are 9.5 and 11 (275 and 305). I like the dymags better too, but these came out pretty nice IMHO. Pics don't do these justice sadly.

Yes, they are gTR and they are $18-21K depending on application. Not sure they have ever been as low as $10K

Sadly, there is no reason to provide cost at this point, as Dymag is in bank ownership and no new product is being produced. As such, at this time, neither HRE nor Dymag can produce CF wheels. HRE uses Dymag carbon barrels for those that did not know.

Thanks
Brad
