Mustang Dyno says 435hp

I put my car on a Mustang Dyno today and got 435 RWHP.
Has anybody else used a Mustang Dyno.?

In my experience they are notoriously low reading heart breakers.
We had a Mustang in our old shop and cars would routinely throw down 30+ whp higher on dynojets right after their cars were tuned on our Mustang (different platform).

DynoDynamics are heartbreakers- based on my multiple pulls with the cars I have or previously owned along with tons of member feedback here and at other sites. But then we must all remember that dynos can be easily manipulated positively and negatively and the road is the best test for power.

435rwhp looks about right- would like to see the graph if you have it.

+1; just run it 60-120 or 60-130 with a decent GPS and you'll know more than the phony dyno numbers.

Id guess the BS is in the 10-11's for a 60-130 run.

Luke,
I think I've posted before. I haven't run 60-130 but the 60-120 times are easier to run without calling attention to a MARS RED benz.

Stock
60-120, 9.0 seconds

With my first tune Powerchip/Evosport
60-120, 8.1 seconds

Second Powerchip/Evosport tune
60-120, 8.3 seconds.

The first tune had problems when tracking the car on high speed turns causing the car to go into limp mode. Evosport worked with PC and fixed the problem.

With sticker tires Hoosiers or drag radials it wold be easily sub 8's.

Jim how does that correlate with horsepower numbers if at all?

Are 120 and 130 really that different in terms of calling attention?

435 rwhp equates to a 13% power loss, which is better than what I would expect from an automatic. I would expect around 15 to 18% power loss. Maybe these cars are producing more power than rated.

Torque is acceleration, HP is top speed. Ever wonder why on a dyno that the HP number and torque intersect at 5200 rpm? It's becasue HP is just a number forumula derived from the amount of torque 550 ft/pounds moves per second.

So horsepower is a unit of measure of work. The dyno's convert the mechanical energy (torque) and applies a formula and bingo the dyno spits out a number that everyone believes. Many dyno tunes bump rpm and show horsepower increases when it's the power under the curve that's more important.

Since I haven't dyno'd my car there is no correlation. I believe a dyno can help tune a car as to A/F, timing. But there are so many variables from one dyno to another, it's impossible to come to a conclusion. Best way is to measure time to distance for performance evaluations.

that's a great explanation. I thought I understood it before, but now I get it. thanks.
