How cool is this? 1:18 Pewter CLK DTM courtesy of AMG
This thing is so cool, I thought I'd share pictures with you guys. I was given this very high quality pewter scale model of the CLK DTM. The AMG guys from the PL gave a couple of these out at the end of 2009 and I was lucky enough to end up with one! Thanks AMG, I will treasure this gift forever!!!

I recieved one yesterday, I first called my dealership to see if they sent it to me but they knew nothing about it then I remembered one of the guys from Private Lounge asked me for my address a couple weeks ago. Its a beautiful piece, well crafted and very heavy, the wheels and tires look like they are two pieces and they actually turn and roll....and yes it came with white gloves and a little note saying only handle with gloves in english and German. VIN number is engraved on the bottom.
I am happy to see Chuck received one, for a minute there I thought this was there way of black balling my vin and warranty LOL.

There is a VIN number engraved on the bottom, I assume it's mine but I don't know my VIN off the top of my head and the car is in Dallas and paper work and title are in safety deposit box. I can probably dig up some of my insurance paperwork somewhere around my house to see if the number matches my VIN#. It also has the AMG logo and 1 of 100 embossed or molded into the bottom side of the casting.
They must be buttering me up, they must have caught wind that I was at my dealership two weeks ago ordering another new ML and tossing around the idea of pulling the trigger on the SL 65 BS...They have a brand new untitled black one that they told me they would sell to me for $225K plus throw in a 5 year extended factory warranty (like I need that), thats about $85K off MSRP, if it was silver or white it would already be in my garage.

mine doesn't have either the VIN or the 1 of 100 notation on it....... hmmmm?
....and folks thought the value of our BSs dropped a lot? I must admit, that would be very hard to pass up....... Pics if you do it!

When I get home this afternoon I will take a picture of the bottom of mine to show you the stamping and engraving.
As for the SL65 BS, I knew the values were going to drop like a rock after seeing how the CLK BS values dropped in the first 12 months, that is why I backed out on mine last summer. They said they had a buyer who would take mine, some executive from McDonalds who lives a couple blocks from me and also owns a CLK BS, only to find out that he too backed out of the deal. I figured if I waited it would drop $60k-$70k and then I would grab one and send it out to evosport and it would almost be like getting the mods done for free. Well here we are less than a year after they were released and they have already tanked nearly $85k so it's got me thinking about picking one up again. If I do get one I'm going to be shooting for 800+ RWHP

As for the prices/values of CLK BS vs SL BS, percentage wise they both devalued at close to the same rate/amount, it's just that the $85k discount sounds much more substancial, but I recall brand new CLK's being discounted to $100k-$105K by late spring of 2008 about 9 months after their release. By my math the two cars have devalued within 5% of one another.

economy and over priced AMG stuff = the depreciation we've experienced. 65BS depreciation = current value of some 63 BSs.........

No, it's something different, nothing exotic, like I said it's just an inexpensive, mass produced beater that I won't care if I hit a guardrail or armco barrier or even another car with

hmmmm........maybe I will list mine on ebay![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
.............JK, this thing is priceless, and again the pics don't do it justice IMO, I am still amazed by the detail of the wheels and tires on it, all seperate pieces that got assembled instead of just casting them out of one solid piece.
