Trade BS for open AMG?

If you were going to trade your Black Series for an open AMG, which would you choose? SL65?

I think that I'd wait for the SLS Black Series and hope they tweaked the appearance a little.

Wait, does open AMG mean convertible?

IMHO there is not a modern AMG that I would give up the BS for...

No, frankly there is no current AMG model that interests me. The S65/63 is too BIG, the new E63 styling doesn't work, at least for me, the C63 is nice and worth consideration as a daily driver if I didn't have my E550, the SLK have never been one of my favorites, and the SL63 is a great car but too expensive when new, and the ML63 makes sense if you want a very fast 4WD SUV but an ML550 AMG is just as good for a lot less money (I've driven both).

IMHO, the CLK63 BS is the best of the AMG breed to-date. I'm not sure where my car crazy insanity will lead me next but a used Ford GT or Porsche turbo are now starting to get my attention.

I usually get my open air thrills on two wheels, there are no current AMG cabs that I would purchase much less trade my BS for. That being said the Aston Martin DBS Volante has really caught my eye, it is a stunning looking automobile and if I had to go out and buy a drop top today it would be the DBS Volante.

How about the SLR convertible.... or at least after it drops its value a bit more. I am not sure how they're holding up, but as for the regular SLR, I've seen a few that have sold for $180k to $210k over the past couple of years.... that's about 60% drop from MSRP

There's about 90 new unsold SLR's in the USA. When the SLS's hit the pipe line they're going down more.

I have seen a couple of SLR conv. with less than 1000 miles go for 265k. I really dont get why this car is taking such a beating. It is a monster performer , and not too shabby looking either.

IMO the SLR has pretty lackluster performance compared to other cars at or near its original pricepoint. it is a glorified GT, you could spend a couple more bucks and get a Carrera GT. I dont really think the SLR has taken more of a beating than most other cars, the economy the past 2.5 years has killed resale values on just about all automobiles, take a look at some auction prices...3 year old F430s going for $130k, DB9s going for under $100k, you can pretty much take any 2-3 year old car out there and buy it for 40-50% off MSRP.

The clk 63 bs is one if the best mercs ever built in my opinion. The bs is a very special car, any one would be lucky to own one. i wouldn't even consider trading a bs for another amg (unless if its a clk DTM or sl65 black series). not even an SLR. (i know im ). If you wanted another ***** out amg i would go for the sl65 black series hands down. you can even find f430's with low miles for a great price. Good luck on your decision

Agree 100% - I've driven a few SLR's and they are fast in a straight line...but don't handle anywhere near as well as the CLK BS. SLR is a car for those who enjoy bragging rights over driving.
